BlizzCon Hero Pick & Ban Popularity

16 matches have been played in total during the BlizzCon event. Below, you can see the table and popularity, win rate and more information about these Heroes. It's interesting to see how different Heroes apart from the meta we get from HotsLogs are played professionally and we see quite a few surprises, being for example Tyrael, who has a 100% win rate thanks to his Sanctification talent that is often not picked and also Tassadar's Force Wall, which is only on a 12 second cooldown and is indeed a game changer.

Example

Uther was banned in every single game. His highest occurrence was the first ban, his lowest was the 4th position, which correlates with 1st pick of Team #2, this means Uther was banned or picked first from a team.

We just got the chance to sit down with Alex Afrasiabi, WoW's Lead World Designer, and pepper him with questions about Cataclysm.  There was such great stuff in our chat, I thought I would just share it verbatim.  Most of what we had to talk about deals with the lore of the upcoming expansion, as well as how players will interact with the end game story in Cataclysm.

Quest!: What will be the Wrathgate equivalent questline as we’re stepping into Cataclysm?  What’s that huge memorable moment that everyone’s going to be talking about?

Alex: There are several of them.  It’s kinda weird.  We didn’t do the kind of single machinima Wrathgate style for shipping Cataclysm, but we did do them in the Goblin and Worgen starting areas –

Direct from the floor of the Anaheim Convention Center, Quest! brings you live coverage of tbe BlizzCon 2010 Opening Ceremony.  We're counting down the minutes until things start, and wanted to make sure you knew where to check in to see our liveblog.  Keep your F5 button handy, and refresh this page often, because we'll be updating this post as new info emerges.

So far, the attendees are quiet, I assume we can attribute that to the rainy weather outside.  We managed to get second row seating in the Press section, close enough to see Ghostcrawler sweat, so I've gotten a good look at the stage.  The stage design appears to be sci-fi alien inspired, but something different from StarCraft II motifs.  Could this indicate that the new IP is a Sci-fi MMO?&nb

Today Blizzard put up the details for what they are calling the BlizzCon 2010 Virtual Ticket.  Essentially, if you weren't one of the lucky few who were able to snag tickets to Blizzard's main event in Anaheim, CA, you're in luck.  Just like in previous years, for the low, low price of $39.95 you too can experience BlizzCon, right from the convenience of your own living room.

Blizzard is once again teaming up with Direct TV to provide access to the event, including all panels, tournaments, as well as the as yet unknown closing ceremonies.  Last year it was Ozzy "let me see your effing hands" Ozborne, so you know the show is sure to dazzle this go around.  Also included in the price of the virtual ticket is access to BlizzCon swag through the online st

Leeroy Jenkins interviewed at BlizzCon

The lovely Veronica Belmont interviews Ben "Leeroy Jenkins" Schulz at BlizzCon (filmed by none other than the Joystiq network's own Conrad Quilty-Harper-- man, all my favorite bloggers were at BlizzCon, and somehow I didn't meet a single one of them). There's not much here, but just in case you didn't get to see him do the yell (twice!) at the sound-a-like contest, here it is in all its glory. I feel bad for the poor guy, who must get asked to do that yell all the time-- he's not your monkey, people!

But he does (mostly) maintain that the video itself is real, and personally, I don't believe it. Yes, maybe it was a reenactment of a previous mishap, but Pals For Life members have mostly admitted that the movie itself (with the calculations and a Paladin trying to get cloth shoulders) was staged. Hilariously staged, I'll admit, but for Schulz to walk around talking like he really did just "have chicken," is misleading at least.

Yeah it's just a funny movie, but you, as a WoW Insider reader, might as well know the truth. Still

The BlizzCon - Goodies And Swag Page has word on goodies for attendees of Blizzard's upcoming BlizzCon event. In addition to BlizzCon entrance, the $100.00 entry fee will also net participants an in-game murloc suit for a World of Warcraft character and a beta key to test an upcoming Blizzard game, a prospect sure to excite those interested in StarCraft II, though which game this is for is unspecified.
