Hey guys, I'm the Marketing Manager down at Shadowed Lands, an independant MMORPG being developed by a couple people. We are currently streaming our development process to any viewers who would be interested in seeing what it takes to develop an MMORPG. Sword-wielding Hopkins Student Kills Intruder

Hours earlier, someone had broken into John Pontolillo's house and taken two laptops and a video-game console. Now it was past midnight, and he heard noises coming from the garage out back.

The Johns Hopkins University undergraduate didn't run. He didn't call the police. He grabbed his samurai sword.

With the 3- to 5-foot-long, razor-sharp weapon in hand, police say, Pontolillo crept toward the noise. He noticed a side door in the garage had been pried open. When a man inside lunged at him, police say, the confrontation was fatal.

"He was backed up against a corner and either out of fear or out of panic, he just struck the sword with force," said Baltimore Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi. "It was probably with fear for his life."

Pontolillo, who rents the house in the 300 block of E. University Parkway in the Oakenshawe neighborhood, struck the intruder no more than twice, police say, nearly severing his left hand and inflicting what police termed a "spear laceration."

There were stories floating around several years back about young kids playing with fake guns causing a big commotion when the police thought they were the real deal. Well, this story from Komo News is sort of like the geek version of that whole fuss. Here’s how it went down:
A guy named Jay was taking part in a “Zombie Crawl”, an event which leads up to an upcoming horror convention in the Seattle area. The idea was to come dressed and made up as a zombie… harmless fun, right? Well Jay made an interesting choice and decided to cosplay as an Umbrella soldier from the zombie-infested Resident Evil series. The getup included everything you might expect to find on a commando: fake grenades, a fake combat knife, an assault rifle, as well as the whole paramilitary getup. Considering he was one of the first people to arrive at the event, and he wasn’t a zombie per se, it’s not too surprising what happened next.

Anime and games have always been a good couple. Especially when .Hack was brought to the world as a manga, then into a leading anime. .Hack//Roots, .Hack//Twilight, .Hack//Sign, etc. But what if, .Hack was just like it was, in the anime, but in real life? Plenty of people say "Of course not, there's no way we could actually move freely, and use senses in a game, and especially something that could put is in a coma.

But what if? There are also people who say, "For sure, technology has no limits!". For those people who have no idea what .Hack is, it is a futuristic game, where you wear, a visor, and controller in hand, and a computer. The whole server being called "The World", and being an MMORPG. Similar to "Fantasy Star Universe Online", going through portals to areas, with monsters on the other side. The anime follows different people, but one of the main people being "Kite". The creators of this game being called CC Corporation, with massive stories behind that you would have to watch the anime or read the manga to see for yourself.
