The Secret World – Second Review, December 2012.

TSW, is no longer a P2P game, Funcom changed the game business model some time ago and is giving away their current content free of a subscription fee. It seems kinda fair that we evaluate the game once more, see what is new in the game and how the game is performing right now. After all, the new B2P model is a big deal.

Synopsis. The game is basically the same thing, level less progression, modern times setting, dark and moody environment and a lot of urban legends. What exactly is new in the game…? This small re-review is about the new additions and the current condition of the game, I will try to keep the old things away, so I am not going to talk about the graphics that much.

In general the game feels more fun because certain features are now here, I can find a group more easily and doing Fusang is more rewarding now. Keep in mind that some little improvements can change a game and TSW is not the exception.

The Secret World - Takes the B2P route, any good?

The Secret World was released some time ago, the game is not exactly a normal mmo, its a niche, one that is full of zombies, mummies, vampires and all sorts of urban legends. Originally the game was another P2P title, pay your monthly fee, then wack a lot of monsters in the face in a very special environment, one that is not like all the WoWish copycats that we have in the market right now.

The only issue was the subscription fee, why pay for a game when you can buy another game that is as good as TSW and doesn't need a subscription fee? I dont really see any reason to pay 15 bucks for a game if there is another mmo around the place that doesnt need a fee, only a single box payment with a small cashshop at its side. (I am looking at you GW2)...

Well, it looks like Funcom made a nice decision, we no longer have to pay a subscription fee to play the game! We can get some sort of VIP membership that will give some benefits like extra XP and a monthly stipend that you can later on use

The Secret World goes from Pay2Play to Buy2Play

So I've just came across news that the secret world has gone into a buy to play mode with a cash shop, even though I won't be playing the game I'm actually quite happy about the news and that's only because I personally think that Buy2Play with an optional cash shop is the best way for games to go and I'm hopeing more company's and even current P2P games start to take this route (providing the cash shop isn't some greedy pay to win attempt), generally any game you actually buy would normally have some high production value just like any console game for example and it's generally good for developers as they know they will be getting money which helps production and updates among other things, so without further adieu here's the update from The Secret World web

Secret World - The Revolution You're Ignoring

With all of the promotion that Guild Wars 2 has gotten since its release, it would be easy to overlook some of the other titles available. After all, the prospect of a top quality MMO with no monthly fee is hard to pass up. In fact, Guild Wars 2 is a must have title and a bit of an odd duck in a bloated market. It's not quite a free to play title, not a pay to play title, but some kind of strange hybrid the likes of which we haven't seen since the "Macho Warrior" Ric Hogan.

Thankfully, Guild Wars 2 stands the test of time a little better than he does. Despite what some may think by reading my previous article about GW2, not to mention the chaos it left in the community, I appreciate the game for what it is and think it is a must purchase for any MMO lover. It is a quality title that can stand up against the best pay to play titles, and the one time purchase fee means that you'll have an MMORPG to play even if you can't afford a monthly fee.

I decided to play Guild Wars 2 years

FUNCOM "The Secret World New Combat Mechanic coming soon"

[Source] In short, it is called reticle combat, which my spell-check is telling me it is not an actual word. No matter, reticle combat will most likely feature a cross-hair, the sort you would see in TERA and to some extent, shooter games. Details for this are still vague currently, but The Secret World’s new game director said a live stream will be done on 12th October to showcase this new combat mechanic.

Players can still switch to the classic tab-targeting, which is somewhat awesome. I may give the game a shot again, only after the live stream convinces me (I HATED the combat).

FUNCOM: "Everyone else is at fault but us"

Oh FUNCOM, you NEVER learn from your mistakes do you? First it was Hellgate, then Age Of Conan, now The Secret World.

But what's this? Blaming other companies for YOUR failure? That's not business-like at all!

How many of you are still paying for The Secret World? Certainly not me. Funcom’s development team has now claimed to Eurogamer in an interview that the game will not be going “Free to Play” anytime soon, citing facts like they are not as big companies like ArenaNet to do so. Seriously? I am a believer of working within your limits, there is no point comparing with the “bigwigs” and lamenting about this.

A fellow colleague, who just stopped paying for The Secret World and jumped to Guild Wars 2, told me how Funcom is leeching cash out of players, with the initial price point, monthly

The Secret World Impression

Right out of the gate with my paycheck I had to make a decision... Wait for Guild Wars 2, or go ahead and spend 50$ on The Secret World.. I chose to go ahead and go spend the 50$. I had heard soo much about Secret World. Back when I was playing Age of Conan (not the Unchained/ F2P) I was in a guild called Envy. We all enjoyed our times of power leveling each other and getting one another up to a decent level enough to run with the guild.. Well, soon enough, the announcement for The Secret World started fireworks inside the brains of all my old guildees. Every one on Ventrilo was ecstatic and couldn't stop talking about the new, upcoming release from Funcom: The Secret World.

I took a gander and decided to have a look for myself. Come to find out, TSW is awesome! No levels, play your character how you want, and plenty of Polaris, Hells Rising, Inferno, and DW groups to join up in! I started out making a Templar, Arsuul, and immediately the g

The Secret World - PvP Review.

Hey peeps, around a month ago I joined the ranks of the Illuminati in The Secret Wold, doing what everyone else does in the game, kill stuff, get more abilities, get new gear and do some PvP!!! That thing my friends is the center of controversy in TSW, some people think that the PvP in TSW sucks. If you surf the web, you will notice that a lot of reviewers usually complain and bitch about the PvP...

If you search for some information about TSW PvP over the internet, you will see stuff like this...

1... There is no Open World PvP.

2... Only 2 battlefields and 1 Persistent Warzone.

3... People complain about balance.

I have to be honest, they are telling you the true when it comes to Open World PvP and the battlefields. Why in the hell they think that 'No Open World' PvP is bad is beyond me. The last thing I want is to get ganked in the open world all the time, stuck every 5 minutes because a Zerg squad is roaming the playfield. Its even counter productive against the game lore. If the 3

The Secret World 'The 3rd Age' - Investigation Mission

The 3rd Age is another investigation mission in Egypt. This one is a bit freaky because it had something to do with ancient barbie dolls make out of stone... Its kinda fun but watching a conversation between rock dolls about their childhood is creppy... By the way, the whole guide is full of spoilers, so dont look at them if you dont want to be spoiled to the ground.

'Go To' Nefertari and get the mission.

'Go To' Cultists Camp, your map should have the destination.

'Pick Up' the strange clockwork metal key.

'Use' the map.

'Go To' the first excavation site. Green circle in your in-game map.

'Use' the mini guardian and then 'Follow' it.

You should be here.

'Go To' the top of the skeleton.

'Use' the strange metal piece.

From now on, things are going to be a bit more open ended...

'Go To' the next site and 'Use' the excavator.. Follow it!

'Use' the Lever.

Get in the hidden cave and 'Use' another strange looking item.

If you get stuck! Use a lever around the cave.

'Go To' the
