Ye peeps, I feel like writing this evening xD (it's 22:45 here), so another game is.... Age Of Conan: Unchained, I know I'm too late for this review~, because it's been out for quite some time, but still I'll give some words, because I have some footage to show you.
So this game is a freemium~ mmorpg that is set in savage times, when peeps were shackled and walked all covered in animal skin and sh1t like that. At the beginning you are the man/woman which was found in a shore, your ship exploded and shrunk or smth, or it was hit by the alien ship... Oh the hell, who knows >_>, so anyway some magic spell was cast and you didin't drown in that accident. you were found in the shore as I said, some old bum found your body.
Combat is very fine, by pressing 1-2-3, you choose the dire
As a metal-loving, godless thrashing heathen I of course have a total love of the Conan, Deathdealer, Viking-esqe Barbarian stories of old. I own several old Conan novels, played a good deal of the 360 game based on Conan, and just generally think its badass. When I heard of a Conan RPG so many years ago being released I thought "Neat." Now here it is on my desktop, free to play.
The immediate thing that sets Conan apart from other fantasy rpgs is the combat system that more or less ditchs many spells for combos and directional attacks. I immediatly found the combat system appealing, also due to how similar it felt to when I played a tiny bit of ToR at comicon. How crunchy melee combat felt was fantastic, and exactly what I would expect to be in a game based on a brutal, bloody setting. To be honest, I almost would of preferred the game to be based on Deathdealer instead. This may be minor and in the long run unimportant but It

Funcom has announced that ‘The Savage Coast of Turan’, which is a new adventure pack for Age of Conan: Unchanged, has been released. One aspect that is kind of cool is that the adventure pack ties in with the new Conan the Barbarian movie, in which players will be able to meet several of the characters and fight some of the monsters from the movie. The pack is purchasable in the store for both free and premium players.
Recently there has also been a dev trailer for the new pack that surfaced on the web thanks to PC Gamer. The video shows off some of the dlc and new areas to explore, while giving audio commentary on what is added to the game, what is new, and what to watch out for. Overall the pack looks very nice and well laid out, with a good amount of n

Today it was announced by Funcom that the award winning Age of Conan mmo will be going free to play. This summer the game will be getting a re-launch with the change of name from ‘Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures’ to ‘Age of Conan: Unrated’. This change is exciting as it will attract a larger playerbase to the game, and give those of us free players a chance to dive into the action.
As quoted from their official site:
“With over 1.4 million copies sold, glowing reviews for both the core game as well as the expansion, and a healthy player base ever since launch in 2008, there is no doubt that ‘Age of Conan’ has been a true success story for Funcom,” says SVP of Sales & Marketing Morten Larssen. “Now we turn t

Age of Conan is about to experience one of its biggest updates ever and we've managed to get some of the early details directly from Funcom. In Update 6 players will experience a brand new Renown system for guilds, confront the evil Thoth-Amon in a new dungeon, and even fight alongside Conan himself. And while the Thoth-Amon dungeon may be aimed at higher level players, the new guild leveling system is sure to bring even brand new players into the mix as guilds strive to increase membership.
Renown is intended to make guild play more meaningful and encourage guilds to recruit more players. Essentially, all the guild members earn Renown through regular play and these Renown points accumulate to unlock up to 20 levels of rewards for all the members of the guild.
Players can earn Renown in any of three areas. Valor Renown is earned through regular player-versus-environment play, so you'll gain it automatically just by killing monsters and completing quests. Glory Renown is earned solely through player-versus-player content, like mini-games and sieges. Artistry renown is earned through crafting. Players can earn Renown points through any of these activities and the sum total will be c

Veteran Points and how you earn them
Players will be awarded new veteran points for each month that they have paid for (whether it is through subscription or game-cards). Each month that a player pays for will accrue a certain number of points, with the number of points awarded each month growing after each six-month period they have subscribed for. In addition there is a bonus amount awarded at each six month interval. These numbers are still subject to possible change over the next couple of weeks as the system gets put through it paces on the test server.
- Month 1 to 5 – 6 points awarded per month
- Month 6-11 – 8 points awarded per month
- Month 12-17 - 10 points awarded per month
- Month 18-23 - 12 points awarded per month
Very interesting but it doesn't really get juicy until we get to the items

When Age of Conan was first released I avoided it like the plague. I did this not because of the hefty price tag or the monthly subscription, nor the gigantic download or the fear of it being a bad game – I did it because I was scared of losing another 4 years of my life to a great MMO. You would need to have been living in a different solar system to avoid the hype of Age of Conan, and after hearing about the new combat system and amazing graphics I feared another WoW.
But alas, a few short months down the track and the temptation was too much to resist. I decided that it was time to put the fear of MMO Addiction behind me, and take a chance with a game that clearly deserves my attention. Thus it saddens me to say that the next few days of

The dingy tavern was silent. Looking around you see several buxom wenches (probably selling themselves to the drunken soldiers that pass through) and unconcious drunk patrons slumped over chairs and on the floor. You spot Tobias Masters sitting over in a dark corner. He gestures for you to sit at his table. His face hidden by dark hood, he leans over the table and whispers:
"Do not speak, we haven't much time..."
You look surprised and just as you try to ask about what's happening, he raises a hand to silence you.
"Please listen carefully... there are those who would hunt me down and flame me for what I am about to tell you and if you happen to agree with me then they will hunt you too"
You give Tobias a puzzled look.
"They are the trolls, they wander around and flame people like you and I for expressing our opinions, that is why I called you out here so late at night... hopefully they're all sleeping or looking over their extensive porn collections by now. Come closer to me child, you must hear me quickly...&
