Patches, ohhhh those bastards have been keeping us desperate since Command and Conquer, while it keeps being an essential task for evrey piece of software, well it's still a pain in the ass and you know it.

But what's with the big updates and patches that developers makes us download all at once and what were the greatest solutions that some developers have implemented throughout these 10 years of complex patches, and we recall all that way from EQ,diablo and the great Ultima Online.

Remember those days when we stumbled upon "The ruins of Kunark"? or,buying houses at the auction house in Ultima Online? well mostly of those games required extra content, from what it seemed to be an real big extension, in Everquest it ment another expansion pack, just as what WoW has been doing but, in a digital more affordable way, remember those big patches like, the ruins of ark'urgan or the dark temple, well what blizzard's been doing it's full contemporary adaptation trough the capabilites of a bigger Bandwidth wich we all own right now.

But if we go back to EQ, that could've been a real pain in the ass, so EQ came up with the discs expansions, and MAN! there were m

The Art Of Rage Quit...

Have you ever rage quit a game? I sure know I have. It happens even to the most patient of gamers. But, it is more than just turning off the game and doing something else. The art of rage quit is complex and takes years to perfect

The art of rage quit

If you want to master the art of rage quit you should follow these simple steps. (Originally from uberhacks.com)

1. Let the anger build
Don’t fire up straight away. Suppress the anger. Let it brood and build inside of you until your face feels hot and your palms begin to sweat. This is how it starts. It is not called a “kinda angry quit” - it is called a rage quit. Think Hulk.

2. Insult everyone around you
It doesn’t matter if you are sitting next to the President himself, insult them. Insult your friends and tell them how bad they are at the game. Yell like you are about to cry.

3. Take it out on the keyboard
You know, if you push the keys really hard and in an aggressive way the people online will know you are angry. You should smash that keyboard like it is your opponent in person.

4. Smash something
A rage quit really isn’t a rage quit until you have broken something. One time I threw my mouse across the room

The Gamers' Guide to Writing for Games - Part One

hen we’re young and invincible, we believe we can become anything. From Astronauts to Aeronautical Engineers, Paramedics to Porn Stars, nothing is a stretch; nothing seems too far out of our reach. When I was young, I wanted to be a writer. More than that, I wanted to write about video games. It seemed like the logical choice really, I spent my childhood playing them; studying them, reading about them, cherishing them and criticising them — why not do it for a living?

But it was just a dream. Just one of those goals you set, but always know you’ll never really achieve. I wasn’t going to get paid to write about games any sooner than I was going to make my living designing aeroplanes or exploring the bitter reaches of space.

At least, that’s what everyone kept

If you don't know the real Gundam thing, I bet you live in the outer space! :P Well since the gigantic robot opened to the public, people can get closer to it, as a result a flood of additional photographs and videos has appeared, with a variety of interesting closeups and low-angle shots. Let's check them out.

Sorry I only uploaded the thumbnail snapshots, for your good, check the original website to see fullsize and more. Anyway I heard at any rate the real gundam will be removed after the 30 years anniversary, hope I can make a travel to Tokyo before its close down , as I'm saving money on that now.

The Last Remnant Review

The Last Remnant was an RPG that was released for the Xbox 360 before being rereleased for the PC with all of the downloadable content included in the PC version. It also includes numerous bug fixes and minor adjustments to the game compared to the 360 version. Its a typical Japanese RPG so if you've played them before you kind of know what to expect. There aren't any significant twists that you didn't see coming except for the ones that don't explain anything.

Story:

Rush Sykes is looking for his sister Irina who was captured by a flying Remnant. You play as Rush on his mission to rescue his sister. Then the rest of it is filled with plot holes that don't make much sense. Characters are bestowed with titles that don't seem to make any sense at all.

Graphics:

On the PC, the graphics are definitely good. The only problem is that the game engine itself seems to have problems keeping up with the game. Otherwise its fine. Character models are fairly detailed, but the animations of charac

Popularised throughout south-east Asia, Ys online is a new 3-D MMORPG being published by Key-to-play which sees players cast into an un-real world filled with danger, intrigue, powerful magic and dark, forbidden secrets... Or at least that’s what the publishers and those with an economic interest in the game would like to think, or more importantly, to have the gaming community think. Let me break it down for you.

Mass Effect: Intimate Love Making

Reading a recent article by CVG, which interviewed Mass Effect's Greg Zeschuk who defends sex scenes in Mass Effect, I have to totally agree with him, and will eleborate why.

The one problem many game faces when it comes to relationships, is imparting the feelings the writer/designer wants the player to have for a character. Taking Mass Effect as an example, you start out as a lieutanent or equvilent, with a brief understanding on your character's background (being able to choose it) as well as the world.

You then get exposed to the various characters, all whom you just met, which allows you to start developing feelings for them. For most, Liara would be a choice not only because we all (men at least) have a fantasy to do it with an alien chick in the deep recesses of our head. But no, I didn't know that when I purchased the game, and it was based on her skills and abilities.

To be honest, aesthetic wise, I never really liked the Asari, they reminded me of the sexy Twi'leks from the Star Wars universe, minus the sexy part. I found the fully masked and fully clothed Tali much more appealing.

Back to the topic, for most of the game I had Liara and Tali with me. I was a Vanguard

WoW-Based Fan Video Series Gets Best Trailer Ever

Hey guys, be sure to watch these three videos, so much fun and worth your time!

To really understand what’s going on watch Zinwrath first and then Super Snacks followed by Escape, they are totally worth your combined 50 minutes of watch time. Watching them in order not only makes it easier to understand (I accidentally watched them in reverse, actually), but it really shows how their editing skills have progressed over the years.

Zinwrath

Super Snacks

Escape from Orgrimmar

The upcoming movie in the series, Illegal Danish 3: The Ballad of Dirti G, looks like it is going to take everything from the first two and multiply it tenfold. Myndflame outlines the plot below:

Van Kraken has created his ultimate brew, the flask of ten thousand souls. The flask is so powerful that only by combining it with the power of the Illegal Danish can it be consumed without fear of death. Even coming into contact with a single drop could be fatal, so Van Kraken forces the remaining residents within the corrupt city of Gnomeregan to help him build a device capable of containing its power. While evaluating the device he realizes that it’s been designed only for a gnome, and with his enemies closin

Soft power of manga, anime, game winning fans the world over

"If Japan ever gets in a dispute with another country, I'll take Japan's side." Said a Taiwanese audience after a concert performed by JAM, or the "Japan Animationsong Makers" Project, in the gymnasium of Taiwan University in Taipei. Bravo huh? Well I do feel a little sad, or pissed about how stupid that audience sounded, but it is also hard for me to contradict the fact, which is, Japan's manga, anime and games, as the sotf power has already won a lot in some realms.

"Soft power" is the ability to bring about a favorable result not through the power of coercion or compensation, but rather through attraction. A theory put forth by Harvard University Prof. Joseph Nye, it is defined as diplomatic power that can overcome the limitations of military and economic might, otherwise known as "hard power." Japanese anime, special effects, manga and fashion are typical forms of soft power.

What is it about Japanese anime that charms young people all over the world? "Songs about a young hero's experience of growing up, of justice that others can relate to and cooperation among friends and companions -- there's something very

Battlefield Heroes - CB review

I love action games and if you’re one of my regular readers or just a fellow action fan, you can imagine just how exited I was when I heard about Battlefield Heroes, a new MMOTPS (third-person shooter) published by EA games, you know, the same guys who made Spore, the Sims, Battle Forge and all those other massive titles. However, if, like me, you have played the game and live in one of those areas unfortunate enough to be plagued by high-ping, you will understand my bitter, bitter disappointment. Nevertheless, I will remain objective about this;
