Blizzard will Water Down Diablo III for Some Countries
By: Carolgarden in posted at Aug 26, 2009 2:09 am - 3

For the past few months Blizzard been showing off some screenshots and videos of Diablo III, which for the most part features a lot of gore. This can only mean one thing for the game and that is region edit.
In a recent interview, Wired sat down with Jay Wilson who is the lead designer for Diablo III and in the interview, Wilson was asked if the game’s content will be edited for regions like Germany, Australia, and even China.
“Definitely for regions like Germany and Australia, we will have to change blood if we’re going to sell there. And that’s fine. Those are the standards for those regions, and we don’t really have a problem with catering to what they need and what they want.” He also says “But China’s going to be hard for us. Because a lot of the restrictions there are really… we may not be able to do them.”
It just sucks for those places to have a water down version of Diablo III, even though they are paying the same or even more money for their product. However, big ups to Blizzard to take the time to actually bring the game to those countries and follow their crazy standards such as changing the color of blood to blu

New study finds Adult Online gamers overweight and low quality of life
By: captbasch in posted at Aug 25, 2009 8:04 am - 0

Are adult MMO gamers the new couch potato? According to the report in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, they find links between video gaming and health issues in older demographics aged 35 years old and above.
The author of the said article, Dr. James B Weaver III, has hypothesized that adults who choose to have sedentary lifestyle which is just play the addicting video games are the ones vulnerable to risky health issues, such as higher BMI and poor mental-health days.
They find out that the average of these adult video-game addicts are overweight, low extroversion, and often depressed. These factors make them sacrifice real-world physical activities in exchange of secluded lifestyle. They also compared the time spent of these adult gaming enthusiasts versus the non-players in the internet through online gaming and online game support, apparently this is also in connection with adults in massive online games, days and night non-stop grinding.
They are quoted as saying that further research among adults will be conducted to on how use digital opportunities more effectively to promote health and prevent disease

Imagine you are dating a 3D virtual girlfriend, it could be like this
By: Hyuk in posted at Aug 25, 2009 12:19 am - 3
If a man falls in love with a 2D character, it should be like customizing a pillow of her, and taking the pillow wherever he heads to. So what if dating a 3D virtual character? Here comes today's story I read...recently a Japanese guy, I mean an otaku released a video about himself dating with his virtual girlfriend, which is, absolutely awesome.

This guy created this 3D girl, then used some kind of technology to put the virtual character into the real life backgrounds, from the video you can see that they did have interactions. Some video snapshots as following:

Sorry I don't know how to share videos from nicovideo.jp, and my Japanese sucks, so you may want to check the website to read the news and video yourself. [ Via Nekomeshi ]

How to tell if someone is a internet addict. [List] (32 Things)
By: furyfight in posted at Aug 24, 2009 10:17 pm - 0
I'm using the facts from my brother because hes a addiction to the internet and he thinks he doesn't, but hes spending 13 hours of his day in front of the computer.
*This doesn't apply to all but some.*
1. If they don't care about anything else except playing or going on internet.
2. They're lacking in school or other activities.
3. If they don't have any other time devoted to something more creative.
4. If they rather play then go and eat a meal.
5. They're to lazy to take showers and daily activites for hygiene.
6. If they have anger issues.
7. They sit in front of the computer for hours on end. Staring constantly.
8. If they spend the night on the computer doing the same things over and over.
9. They rather stay inside then do something outside.
10. They're getting fat.
11. Overeactive on the simplest things.
12. Blames their daily life/problems on someone else.
13. If they say they're going to do something, but later doesn't.
14. Cries and throws a tantrum when someone disconnects internet.
15. Can't get a social life.
16. Rather play then do work that needs to be done.
17. Ignores emergencies.
18. Never picks up phone.

Maple Story Card Trading Game Review
By: doogie in MapleStoryposted at Aug 24, 2009 12:17 am - 1
Oh how much I hate maple story. Yeah I said it but for some reason I was tempted to play this card game that nexon had made. Maybe it was because I had watched the new Yu gi oh show or maybe it was because I was watching bakugan and they have cards and what not. All I know is I was in the mood for some type of card game. I felt this would be crap and only sastify my ten minutes of card gaming. Sadly I was so wrong about this game. It has a weird system of gameplay starting off but believe me you can not go through the tutorial to truely understand the learning curve of this game. I believe that they have a great idea behind having AI's play and help you but they are sadly mistaken when they thought they made them hard. To easy to beat is the answer to that. That is why they made this an online game. So here is a quick run down of the game. You basically choose your main character. Choices of Mage,Theif,Warrior, and well some other ones. I could not help myself I just wanted to be a theif (smiles). So you they start you off with a few cards and then you can of course buy a regular set of cards which is 1000 points or you can do what I did and use the whole 200

My 10 Favourite Old School PC Games
By: Ajatz in posted at Aug 23, 2009 3:36 pm - 3
Over the Summer I have been avoiding any f2p games and instead stuck my nose into some serious old school games from almost a decade ago. If you like please suggest a f2p game for me to try (I might even review it).
Here is my 10 favourite Old School Games =)
10. RUNESCAPE Classic (2001)

Laugh all you want, Runescape classic is simply...man what was I thinking back then lol. You are a poorly drawn human punching cows and slicing goblins in a chop like motion. The weapons lack ..well graphics. Dagger or 2H all look like colourful sticks and you move like a cripple (literally you do). But nevertheless it takes a lot of imagination for the game to come to life and with the help of some friends you can probably enjoy this nostalgic game and get a good laugh out of it =). *You need an account that was created during Runescape classic to play this*
9. Age of Empries II (1999)

13 civilizations, legions of armys and hours of strategic gameplay. This is probably the most strategy intense game I ever played and it takes hours to finish. The longest game I ever played was 5 hrs long. Heck there is so much to do and it requires so much attention that you can't even go to

Gaming addiction and the games themselves
By: Lazica in World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandariaposted at Aug 23, 2009 1:55 pm - 2
Gaming addiction...
Said to be more dangerous than alcohol, smoking and drugs...
Gaming addiction, ladies and gents,is considered most dangerous outta all 4 mentioned above.
It all started all the way back in 2004...
World of Warcraft was realeased and in just a span of few months it became extremely popular.WoW was something of an old MMORPG genre but presented in a great shiny light.Blizzard maked sure that the game is distributed to every corner of USA and Europe so that everyone could have access to it.Now,as a player that isn't for paying to play something (at least not every month) you ask yourself how come that WoW is THAT popular?Well it's because of it being something totally diffrent than the MMO market has ever seen.
Of course there were MMOs before WoW,but when we look at those MMOs now in 2009 we are laughing comparing them to WoW,mostly because of the graphics, and if we by any chance played them, then it's because of the gameplay system itself.
Because of being "diffrent" WoW became the macro of Online Gamingwith more than 11 MILLION players around Europe and USA.
Now,how come that there are those "WoW addicts&

Top 10 moments of gaming!
By: doogie in posted at Aug 22, 2009 12:14 am - 0
Alright we all know of those omg! or WTF! moments that happen during a game. Like the WTF! moment in legend of zelda. Where you forget to get the long shot and not being able to get through the water temple but your stuck so you have to reset the whole game! or the moment in mario bros 3 where your at the last boss but you get hit by one little stupid boomerang. Well these are some top 10 wtf/omg/oh yeah moments of gaming.
10. WTF MOMENT! (Super Contra 3 snes - Over head stages!)
Alright so we all remember this game right?
Well did you ever beat the first stage and go, "Damn! That was really hard!?" Well if you did then you know what comes next. Yes the over head stage on a highway. No one understood why this was in the game but no one saw the point considering it was hard as hell. Nothing was fun about that it was just plain hell and hard! To make it worse theres more then one time!
9. WTF/OMG MOMENT! ( Megaman games in general)
Dont get it wrong you know who this cool blue guy is and no he is not sonic!

Megaman is his name and you can not be a true gamer with out playing at least one of his games let alone knowing them. So this is not only a wtf mo

Free Realms Review
By: badgamer007 in Free Realmsposted at Aug 21, 2009 4:17 pm - 1

Description: Sony Online Entertainment
An Online RPG That Runs In Your Web Browser
With Free Realms reaching over 4 million registered users, let’s just say this game has made the rounds. I can honestly say, however, that if you have not yet played the game, you are missing out on an experience. While this game may be aimed at a younger audience from the ages of 9 to 14, Free Realms can entertain any adult who wants to feel like a kid again.
On the site alone, it quenches the thirst of a competitive gamer with leader boards on almost every mini game you come across.
One thing is for sure, when you mention Free Realms, you cannot forget about the built in mini games. Some are job oriented. For example, when acting as a Pet Trainer and choosing to teach the pet a trick, a mini game where you have to trace the shape which is shown to you on the screen opens up. Other mini games can be found on the map. For example, a harvesting mini game is located at any farm, symbolized by a watermelon on your map. This mini game is a matching game where you select 3 or more of the same vegetable or fruit by clicking the start of the chain and dragging it to the end of the chain. The objective

Sudden Attack Pre OBT Review
By: badgamer007 in posted at Aug 21, 2009 3:34 pm - 1

Game Options
When you first start playing Sudden Attack, the user-friendly atmosphere immediately takes you in. Some of the game’s options, are rarely seen in FPS. Two examples are the Cross hair change and Hand type option. Besides the standard options of Quick Join, Join, Refresh and Select server, you can report players from the waiting room, which makes it convenient to catch the players. Also, Sudden Attack’s website updates weekly with a list of banned players.

Shop/Inventory
You first start out with 3000 points, earning more points by playing. There is not much variety when it comes to weapons for purchase, with six primary weapons, two secondary, one-melee weapon and one other. When your rank goes up, you receive a new weapon. This weapon has an expiry date, like the weapons in the shop.

Slot Settings
There is one option that stands out while browsing the shop inventory; it's Slot settings. This is where you can put weapons that you might want to exchange during the game. It costs 50 points for each exchange.

Targeting System
When firing in Sudden Attack, your weapon is easy to control and your able to hit enemies heads from a long distance.Your not pu
