Need a girlfriend? This is the right one for you!

If you're a loner gamer/otaku and you feel you can't find a decent girlfriend in real life then this item is JUST FOR YOU!

Augmented reality (AR), the combination of virtual worlds and reality, is a cool concept that leads to useful applications in navigation systems, medicine, architecture and many other fields. Geisha Tokyo Entertainment Inc. [JP] now found a way to help all single otaku overcome their problems in finding a real girl friend.

Their alternative to heal loneliness 2.0 is called “Dennou Figure ARis”, or “Cyber Figure Alice” in English. This is how it works: Buyers receive the AR software, 2 cybersticks and 2 cybercubes. Put one of the cubes in front of the computer, point a webcam at it and the screen will display a 3D image of Alice standing on top of the cube.

Siena the Queen: The new Linking System

Welcome to part 2 of the Siena the Queen blog! Today we will look at the new linking (or you could call a broadcast system as well) functions, another of the new pieces of content which may not be new to the MMO genre but add much needed features to the game. The first feature allows you to mark out specific areas on any map, and send that as a link on the chat. I will try to explain this as best as I can, but you really have to go through the process yourself to understand how simple it is.

1. Open the GPS map by pressing 'M'
2. Find the map and the location you want, hold down the ctrl button, and rightclick on the map.
3. You will see the map name appear on the chat window, as a link. If you press enter to send the chat the link will become visible to other people, for example selecting a spot anywhere in Pontus Ferrum will broadcast 'Pontus Ferrum' as a link in the chat.

The link visible in the chat box

4. Anyone who now clicks on that link will have it marked on their map with a green cross.

5. The link obeys the rules of whichever chat you have active when you create it. Guild chat will be visible to your guild only, while u

MMO Communities -- and the People that Ruin Them

There are a lot of great MMO games out on the market today -- games that are entertaining, innovative, and can dazzle the senses with great visuals and sounds. But no matter now good an MMO is designed or how fun and inventive it can be, what is the one thing that can still destroy it? The community. Of course, the other side of that argument is that a great community can save an otherwise mediocre or unenjoyable game. Either way, it's good to see that more and more people considering a game's community when rating and reviewing MMO games, because they are very important. Of course, how often will you find an actual "good" community? There are some that are better than others, and very often as time goes on, communities may get better or worse depending on the popularity of the

Top 5 Features Girl Gamers May Enjoy in Champions Online

Flexible Character Creation

The character creation on CO is extremely flexible and open-ended. You start off with a basic model, but soon, you can be adjusting the details of your avatar’s face, body mass, musculature, and as always, your breasts. Though the character creation of Champions Online still falls short of City of Heroes, it still offers much more customization than those of competing MMOs. The menu itself is simple to use and understand, and each category has pre-made choices and then a detailed customization screen. You can start with something that the professionals created and then tweak it to your preferences. The costume options are versatile, colorful, and color coordinated for those of us who are not entirely sure which hues are complimentary. My one major complaint is that you start off with an Incredibles-like mask over your eyes, and you have to skip ahead three screens in order to remove it. Masks for superheroes is so 1980s. Hasn’t Cryptic watched any of the new X-men movies?

The Best Console Today

Maybe you've asked yourself recently "What's the best console today?", or maybe you're actually interested in picking up a console and you're not sure which one is right for you. Or maybe you just want to know which console is the best of this current system. The truth is that, with all things considered, there is no "best" console. The PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and even a comparable PC are all virtually neck-and-neck when you crunch numbers and get down to the nitty-gritty details.

Not the answer you wanted to hear, huh? Well, the truth is that there are many valid arguments that can be made about the superiority of one system over another. Picking the best system becomes a matter of preference -- you have to pick the best console for you. There are a lot of things to consider when choosing a console and determining which one is for you -- things like prices and the gaming library. Being an employee of a major video game retailer (whose name I'm not allowed to d

China Ripping off Anime

The poster for Dragon Baby, and related images

Earlier today I ran across an article with the blazing headline "China Rips off Pokemon, Naruto, and Digimon", and being a fan of all things anti-anime, I had to take a look. Central China Television, a state-run broadcasting company, has recently started to air a series called "Dragon Baby". It's an anime about dinosaurs, but supposedly it borrows heavily from the characters and plot devices of such "classic" animes as Pokémon, Naruto, and Digimon.

The heads of the CCTV company showed a lot of gaul on the situation, too. When confronted about this so-called anime rip-off buffet, they responded first by saying that the issue was with the anime's producers and not the broadcasting company (which is very true), and then by letting the public know that th

Soul of the Ultimate Nation (SUN) Online Review

Soul of the Ultimate Nation (SUN) Online was a game that I was eager to play a long time ago after I tried Lineage 2. Back then it would have been great, but now it seems very questionable. There was a nice concept behind it and it looks nice, but the actual implementation of the system is very lacking. I found myself having numerous issues with the controls despite having the option of choosing either keyboard or mouse movement.

Story:

Didn't care. I stopped caring after the village raid or whatever in the beginning.

Graphics:

For a game that is a few years old, it still looks pretty nice. The characters look nice although they could use more variety. The towns feel a bit plain but once you're out into the later areas, it looks really nice. The only problem is you have to up the gamma settings a bit so it isn't too dark. The annoying part for me was that the game didn't have a built in window mode so you have to use the hidden ctrl + enter or some other combination of keys to set the game to window mode. It got annoying to have to do that every time I played. If you don't do this, you get disconnected if you alt + tab for too long.
