Female Characters Sell Games

Presented by KOEI, Samurai Warriors 3 is set to be released on Dec 3rd in Japan for the Wii platform.

First of all, let's have a look at the trailer for this game.

Although touting a new system, Samurai Warrior 3 is still a Hack and Slash game like all its former installments. Someone will talk about its storyline. Yeah, its story is awesome, well designed and based on feudal Japanese history with a liberal helping of fantasy. But there is not too much difference comparing to its former installments. Like the Dynasty Warriors series, they are all well - known as being repetitive button mashers.

The question comes. What make this game so hot on sale? Why do lots of game fans pay so much attention on it? One reason may be some small changes to the beat'em up genre and game feature make it a little different. But in my opinion, the most important reason might be its fancy design of many female appearances. The designers try their best to make character's appearance more different and attractive with each new installment.

Here we go. Take Oichi for example, look at the 3 pictures, have you noticed that in every generation, she looks different and becomes more and more mature?

Top 5 Most Anticipated RPG's Not Named Final Fantasy

Here is another MUST-READ article for J-RPG fans, written by Cameron Teague

For the first part of this generation’s life cycle there was not a lot for the PS3 in terms of RPG’s. The PS3 now has a few gems with Valkyria Chronicles and Disgaea 3, as well as a former Xbox exclusive in Eternal Sonata. With age the PlayStation 3 seems like more attractive platform for RPG developers and publishers.

Next year marks a great year in terms of Role Playing Games with the big boys Square-Enix finally releasing Final Fantasy XIII, XIII Versus and XIV. While the Final Fantasy series keeps the series die hards happy it is not the only great up and coming RPG. But that is not the only great RPG to hit the PS3 next year and PlayStation LifeStyle will run down the 5 Most Anticipated RPG’s of 2010 that you need to keep an eye out for. These are in no particular order and few of these have yet to receive a US Release Date but we expect them to come in 2010

About time! Trekkies are starting to exhaust the special features on their new "Star Trek" DVD's and Blu-ray discs and now they can expect to see the franchise's long-awaited MMO ready to go live. Though it's been in development for about half a decade, it looks like all systems are go for 2010, and the first class of cadets for "Star Trek Online" will see the game's closed beta test start up on January 12th in preparation for its February 2nd launch.

"We're all very happy to be able to let you know that 'Star Trek Online' will be in Open Beta from January 12 - January 26, 2010," the announcement on StarTrekOnline.com states. "Keys will be given out on a first come, first served basis, and can be acquired right here on startrekonline.com."

Applications are being accepted right now for the beta program, which requires a registered Cryptic account. Those deemed worthy will be notified via email.

The game will take place in the year 2409 on the original Star Trek timeline, though the events that occurred in J.J. Abrams' film prior to Spock and Nero heading back in time to create an alternate future will be a part of the universe

Predicting the Fall of World of Warcraft

For the past 5 somewhat years WOW has been dominating the MMO world with no signs of slowing down, but with a crippled world economy and stiff competition the rate of subscribers are starting to decrease. Just last year they could boast 2 million subcriptions in just 6 months and now they are lucky enough to even get 1 million. The sad part is all good things come to end but usually they come to an end by the hands of other good things. Let me explain why I predict that WoW is going to completely demise in the next 2 years.

Blizzard falling apart as a company

Blizzard is dying and becoming some bizzare crossbreed between Vivendi, Activision and itself. It's no longer Blizzard as you know it and now is some sort of twisted abomination hiding behind that Blizzard logo. Ever since Vivendi bought Blizzard, there was discontent with how things are done in the company itself, which lead to the Big 4 developers leaving the company all together. Many high ranking producers also left (and some forced to leave) to be replaced those who Vivendi thought would be more fit.

To be or not to be...

For me the past month has probably been the hardest of my life. I've failed in more ways than one, I have lost all I ever stood up  for and I no longer know what I want to do with my life. This will be a very, very cold winter for me.

So why am I writing? Boredom, loneliness? Or maybe I just felt like writing... So, I think I'll try to make a comparison between REAL LIFE and an MMORPG life, in my own vision.

“I don't wish to be everything to everyone, but I would like to be something to someone.” (Javan)

As an individual I'm not very lonely, but I always have been alone. The closest people in my life are my family but even they are distant, and don't know my true nature. But loneliness is not the same as being alone. Some people find themselves lonely amongst others. It is not about the number of friends you have, but the quality of your friends and what they can offer you. It's like joining a new clan where nobody knows you, nobody really cares, you're just another person to use in raids, instances or farming. And you try to make the best of it, you try to trade your items, knowlege and skills, and

10.Bleach – Heat Of The Soul

The game is really fun, but got repetitive after a while. The game is a beat them up based entirely on the Bleach universe, with an enormous character database, cell shaded graphics and lots of combos! The objective of each match is to reduce the opponent's health to zero using basic attacks and special techniques unique to each character and derived from techniques they use in the source material.

Watch this Youtube video clip, the dog steps on the skateboarding peripheral and just do it quite well, smart, isn't he? Well I don't buy any Xbox360 peripherals so far, so I'm not sure if the dog was actually playing on it, someone says it's staged. What do you think? Youtube Link

Video Game provides Virtual Girlfriend, Requires Kissing

Love Plus is a new Japanese dating simulation for the Nintendo DS that requires a fair amount of interaction between you and your simulated date. Including kissing!

Having selected a virtual girlfriend (let's say Rinko), you're supposed to engage her interest in real time, by taking her out on dates and planning things together. She may be shy at first, sending you mixed signals about your relationship with her. Eventually, though, if you play the game right, the two of you become more intimate. In an interview on boingboing about the game, Koh, a married man, answers some questions:

Q: "Koh, what do you and Rinko do together?"

Koh: "OK, this is pretty embarrassing. The DS has a mic and a touchscreen, so... one time, she asked me to say "I love you" a hundred times into the mic. I was on the airplane when she asked me that, so I was like, no way. There was also this part where you have to hold her hand on the touchscreen. If you touch her hand with the stylus, you get to hold her hand. And then there's the part where you have to kiss her."

Q: "Did you do it?"

How jealous, this zombie walk thing could never happen in my country. But thanks to David Lees, who's a digital photographer on that show, his photoworks which submitted to Izismil are just amazing and giving you the real horror! Some extreme stuff in this post may cause you sickness, watch at your own risk.
