Best Budget Laptops for Gaming
By: Carolgarden in posted at Oct 25, 2009 11:56 pm - 1
It’s not easy to find a decent gaming machine with a tight budget. You can do it, but usually it’s not pretty and you’ll constantly find yourself flipping through magazines and drooling over the systems that cost 3-4 grand. However, if you’re trying to find a decent gaming laptop on a budget the task becomes near impossible. While laptops are great for portability, profile, and just plain style, they’ll never be able to truly compete with a desktop as far as power, expandability, and sheer gaming bliss. It’s difficult for tech developers to cram all that circuitry in such a tiny frame without causing overheating and a host of other problems but mobile technology is progressing by leaps and bounds.
So, if you’re looking for a laptop that can handle some games I’ve made your search a little easier. In fact, I’ve scoured the internet for the best of the best (on a budget) and the list below contains some of the baddest machines for your buck.
(Keep in mind they’re listed by price and that may or may not affect the performance of the machine and the pain it inflicts on your wallet.)

Ju-On: The Grudge” –Too afraid to open
By: Princessdoll in posted at Oct 25, 2009 8:06 pm - 0
I really don’t like horror films/movies or alike. I get really scared and can’t go to sleep afterwards due to the pictures. Even though everybody tells me “It's not real! Asshole!” but still the picture always embeds on my mind making it a lot harder for me to sleep at all!!
So yes, you should have expected that I won’t play “Ju-On: The Grudge!”
For those who don’t know, XSeed made "Ju-On", a game based on the moderately popular horror franchise, "The Grudge." Yes, it features meowing children en masse.
Depending on how you play through this "haunted house simulator," you'll be graded on two meters: Scare Level and Sissy Level. The game will track how quickly you progress through the game, so if you're the type of charging ahead, knocking down Japanese children with ease, your Scare Level will go up and If you're the type of coward like Sponge Bob and Patrick in the corner then Sissy Level increases.
I laughed so hard when I found out the game will give you a humiliating description of how you played. Here's a sample, quoted directly from the game:

“Your fear level: A total wuss. That's wha

Top 10 comic book superheroes
By: IulyaSama in posted at Oct 25, 2009 6:12 am - 5
1.Superman
Superman is comic book history. Without Superman, the first big comic book superhero, we might not have had Spider-Man, Batman, and the others. Due to the success of Superman, other comics companies pushed making superheroes and to that, Superman is owed a huge debt. Decades later, Superman is still going strong, with a movie in the works, multiple titles to choose from, and a hit TV show. The Man of Steel is certainly on top in terms of historical importance, abilities, and current popularity.

2.Spider-Man
What Spider-Man lacked in ability, he made up in heart. The wall-crawler is one of the first of many true to life superheroes and because of this, Spider-Man has become loved and adored by fans the world over. Spider-Man is Marvel comic’s number one superhero, with legions of fans, blockbuster films, and many hot comics to read.

3.Batman
There is something about the dark brooding sense of Batman that intrigues people. Or maybe its Batman’s alter-ego, millionaire Bruce Wayne, that people wish they had more in common with. Maybe the reason so many people identify with him is that Batman has no truly supernatural powers. Any one of us could be Batman W

My lvl 1-20 Life in Red Cliff.
By: DogBeating in posted at Oct 23, 2009 8:28 pm - 2
The CBT ended and just like the traditional standard operation procedure in an MMO the Open Beta Phase will follow and of course there will be no wipe outs. So I was motivated to play the first English version of Chi Bi (Red Cliff) brought t us by Cubizone (Cubinet Interactive). Once again my virtual counterpart landed in Tao Yuan or peach village to start my journey as a struggling pugilist turned into an aspiring warrior of the kingdom of your choice. I arrived in Tao Yuan and as expected those Country Emissary NPC whose responsible for giving you the Country Card isn't there. Most probably they are busy CC-ing (changing channel) or enjoying their vacation in their respective kingdoms. In my experience during the CBT test the GM's needs to manually summon the said entities in front of you.

I just realized why do you need the country card in the first place? If the publisher is giving away a mouth watering newbie pack that will never fail to help you in your first 9 days in the game. The item includes a set of “violet named” equipment set minus the weapon with a very nice stats, some sets of potions, a whooping Yellow Mane Mount that you can use once you acquire

The World without Internet

It's the not-to-distant future. They've turned off the Internet. After the riots have settled down and the withdrawal symptoms have faded, how would you cope?
What life would be like in an Internet-addicted society learning to cope without it?

By: Hyuk in posted at Oct 22, 2009 12:55 am - 0
After hearing of someone falling love with 10-year-old videogame character and watching a video of how Japanese otaku dating with 3D virtual girlfriend, I think most of you guys are cool with these people, admit it or not, sometimes virtual girl- or boy-friend is better than the real one, the only sad part is you just can't touch him or her.
Whatever, otakus don't care, here is a series of an otaku dating with his unreal girlfriend in the DS game Love Plus. it just reflects how popular it is now. (Forgive my broken translation of Japanese...)

More pictures to see via the original link. Well, I haven't played Love Plus, but since it became popular all over the world of otakus, I will definitely give it a shot.

Ideal Jobs for Video Gamers
By: swordson in posted at Oct 21, 2009 1:46 am - 0
So your mom won’t stop pestering you about shutting down your system, taking a shower, and getting a real job but you don’t want to slave for peanuts at the local sweatshop doing something you hate while dreaming about your poor abandoned box back home. Don’t worry, we’ve all been there—heck, I’m still there, and I’m 30 years old and married! You need cash but can’t bear the thought of losing your gamer cred so what can you possibly do? Never fear! I’ve compiled a list of the six best jobs for gamers and if you can’t find something that works for you on this list . . . keep looking.

1) Flip Burgers
Don’t knock it! Fast food service equipment has come a long way since the seventies. Nowadays, if you work at McD’s you get to wear a cool headset all day and shout into the microphone just like you do on Xbox live. To top it off, some of the drink machines are automated and all you have to do is push buttons and watch the cups roll around on a mechanized track! Wow, and your mom said all those hours of dropping tangos with your buddies in Rainbow Six was a waste of

Battleswarm Field of Honor Review
By: badgamer007 in Battleswarm: Field of Honorposted at Oct 20, 2009 9:20 pm - 2

*The following review was done before September 23rd
Battleswarm is a game that combines shooter with strategy. The shooter part of the game is when you are playing as a human and the strategy part is when you are playing as a bug. The games graphics are very well done: the shadows, water effects and the overall bloom effect in the game can be visually pleasing on the eyes. The game in general is user friendly and from the start you are given missions that have useful rewards.

Blood splats on the screen indicating a meteor has fallen nearby.
