The Toughest Final Fantasy Optional Bosses
By: mayutokine in posted at Nov 17, 2009 9:12 pm - 1
Throughout the world of Final Fantasy, there lies treacherous creatures known as "optional bosses." Aside from the normal mini-boss and storyline bosses the player encounters, sidequest bosses are more difficult to vanquish due to their ridiculous stats and powerful-as-hell physical and magical abilities.
Some players may think that Sephiroth, Ultimecia, Garland and Kuja are the toughest bosses in the world of Final Fantasy; inexperience can bring a player down and that disappointing "Game Over" will flash right in front of their faces. Storyline and central point bosses offer a mediocre amount of challenge as, developers programmed them in a way that the player can finish the game: sidequest bosses have a different stories of their own and can deliver a knock-out strike to the unwary adventurer.
This is a list of what I believe are Final Fantasy's most menacing threat to a 100% completion rate:
1. Ozma - an entity that appears as a kaleidoscope of death. Ozma's attacks are certified HP killers while Curse inflicts unprotected party members with status ailments preventing this Ozma to take damage from tanks and wizards. What's worse: the higher your level is, th

This is how Left 4 Dead goes back to NES
By: Hyuk in posted at Nov 17, 2009 7:53 pm - 0

Ever wondered how Left 4 Dead would work out if it was created back in the 80’s for Nintendo? Thanks to Eric Ruth and his PixelForce NES de-make of Left 4 Dead, we will soon have the famous zombie fps title released as a full game free for download in early January 2010 for PC. It includes all the campaigns from the original game, 5 special infected and supports up to two players.
The best part of this project is that it’s “Valve approved”. Valve is aware of the project and finds the concept “hilarious”. Unlike most developers, they’ll have a C&D letter within your doorstep minutes after they hear you’re creating something using their IP. Source: Gossipgamers

Most popular classes in Aion
By: IulyaSama in posted at Nov 17, 2009 5:09 am - 7
The classes system in Aion allows players to first pick a general direction, before having to decide on the final details. This means from level 1 to 10 Aion players can pick between playing a warrior, scout, mage or priest. As a routined MMORPG players you’ll immediately recognize the concept of tank, melee dps, range dps and healing. At level 10, you’ll then get to decide on your final Aion class. Every direction offers two choices. As a warrior you’ll have to decide whether you’ll be playing a templar or a gladiator. Scouts pick between Assassins and Rangers. For Mages the options are Spiritmaster and Sorcerer, while priests get to choose between Priest and Chanter. The specialization after playing a base class for several levels, the distinction between the different options a base class has – even down to the equipment they usually wear.Starting with the Warrior characters, I’ll take a look at the different Aion classes, allowing new players to make a beter choice:

The Amazing History of Kirby!
By: ZeldaOnline in posted at Nov 16, 2009 7:14 pm - 3
The History Of Kirby
In these dark times, gaming's left with only one character as genuinely pure and innocent as his appearance would suggest: HAL's Kirby. At age 16, Kirby is hardly the pimply, sullen teenager one might expect. He's still bright, happy, and, above all, pink. Most videogame characters his age have a few skeletons in their closets or seem to be trying a little too hard to fit in with the space marines of the world. But Kirby is as uncomplicated as his physique, which resembles a fat friendly ghost or a stomach on legs -- provided stomachs have stubby little arms and peer at the world through soulful black eyes, that is. Kirby came into his digital world blessedly free of backstory and baggage, and that hasn't changed over the years. Gamers are therefore free to latch on to his positive nature as easily as they take to his games. His platformers, in fact, were initially developed with the beginner in mind, though they have since branched into a series designed to educate beginners and challenge experienced gamers. Otherwise, the character has changed little since his initial conception. Kirby's papa, Masahiro Sakurai (formerly of HAL Laboratory), was taske

Russia Bans Modern Warfare 2
By: Hyuk in posted at Nov 15, 2009 10:48 pm - 0

Due to the nature in which Russians are portrayed in Modern Warfare 2, the country has banned the sale of the game and have begun to recall all copies that were already sold.
The most complained about part of the game centers around a group of terrorists shooting civilians inside a Russian airport. Infinity Ward is already working on a version of the game that completely removes this level and is hoping to re-release the game in less than a month's time. However, this new version may still not be enough to allow the game to be sold in that region given how the game centers around a war between the US and Russia.
Russian gamers are apparently very unhappy with the game's content. One Web site, GotPS3, railed against Infinity Ward for catering to an American audience and ignoring the sensitivities of other cultures. The site believes that Infinity Ward portrays the Russians as terrorists.
This isn't the first time a country has taken issue with how their homeland was portrayed in a game. Another recent example is when the Venezuelan government took issue with Mercenaries 2 or when the North Korean government took issue with Ghost Recon 2. [TGN]

Allods Online, a much anticipated game from Astram Nivul, the creators of Heroes of Might and Magic V has started its Closed Beta Test #1! With a budget of $12 million dollars and 4 years of development the game revolves around Astral Space with floating islands that are called Allods. With 6 races and 28 classes to choose from, players can level from level 1-10 for the duration of the first test. And they can explore the content for these levels. Closed Beta keys are easilly found and are given away from sites like mmosite.com.
There are two sides to choose from, The League and The Empire. The League that you might consider as the good side, consists of Kanians, Elves and Gibberlings. While the ambitious and ruthless Empire consists of Xadaganians, Orcs, and Arisen. There are the usual and unusual archetypes you can choose from such as warriors, paladins, summoners, psionicist, wardens, healers, mages and the scouts. However, some classes are bound to specific archetypes, for instance, the Gibberlings can only choose between being a warden, scout, psionicist, and warrior.
The game starts out with your character in total immersion meaning you will feel very involv

Top 5 Most Hated NPC's in Online Games
By: Princessdoll in posted at Nov 15, 2009 7:07 pm - 4
After watching pacman's fight yesterday thanks to streaming, (lol at Cotto's running method up to round12) I was really happy that he is gaining a great name from 0 to hero they say.
Anyway this has nothing to do with what I'm about to write now, I just made a list of my top 5 most hated NPC. Well, if you love something you hate something too right? These are the times when you really want to grab the NPC through your monitor if you can, then just smash it to pieces or kill it badly!
I just want to share my ran- I mean.. My list... lol! Don't expect much as I only put the common jobs of NPCs that are used by most games.
5. NPC Job changer - not all! But some are really mean you just want to cry out loud. Ever experience being a noob? First time to play the game and you're so excited to change job that when you reach the right level the NPC would say "You need to give me this and this and this... and so on" before you can change your job.
Of course you have no choice but to follow the instructions of the NPC because whatever you do, you can't argue with it and it won’t answer back as it is only set to answer chosen questions.

Too bad your dream job is reachable

Most popular game-communities
By: IulyaSama in posted at Nov 15, 2009 4:45 am - 5
♦Counter-Strike
The original Counter-Strike still remains number one and it stands as the highest ranking title, according to the official Steam web site, that is. The CS community had just over 174,665 active servers, with approximately 276,552 gamers playing online. If the statistics on Steam are to be believed, this should translate into roughly 9.423 billion minutes of play time per month. The fact that these daily figures haven't changed for several years is indicative of how much gamers still prefer a standard CS match over playing any other multiplayer shooter. When you look at other popular classic shooters such as Quake 3, Call of Duty or Halo, it's hard to estimate if these communities will ever manage to achieve the status of Counter-Strike. The simple fact is: numbers never lie.The CS community expands as time goes by, with an ever-increasing amount of mods, weapons and other content. However, even CS has its downsides and was criticized on a number of occasions.

♦RuneScape
In case we're talking about a Java-based MMORPG, developed and maintained by Jagex. The game currently encompasses over 9 million active free accounts and more than 1 million
