Square Enix and FFXIV team up with Microsoft to promote Win8 (WALLPAPERS FOR ALL!)
By: Dododoro posted at May 14, 2013 3:20 pm - 0
Microsoft has teamed up with Square Enix to promote FFXIVARR for Windows 8.
Now as we know, Windows 8 has had a very rough launch this past year.
So, who better than Square Enix to help Microsoft make it's mark again with windows 8?
(Try to count how many classes you see in the above wallpaper)
While Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is not coming to the Xbox 360, Square Enix has partnered with Microsoft to promote the game, and the result is a website (in Japanese) on which players can share their thoughts on the game and on the Final Fantasy franchise to be immortalized on a series of text art panels that use as a base some beautiful character illustrations by the game’s character designer Akihiko Yoshida.
In addition to the initial warrior picture we got two new ones, featuring a lo

FFXIVARR: The Job System Overview (What will YOU be?)
By: Dododoro posted at May 09, 2013 8:18 am - 0
Three more weeks until Phase 3 begins!
I've decided to compile a nice job overview
(As a lot of new people will be seeing other players in this gear)
Paladin, Dragoon, Whitemage, Blackmage, Warrior, Bard and Monk
In FFXIV 1.0, you were able to unlock one of these jobs once you attained level 30
and level 15 in a corresponding class and then completed a quest
for the job's soul crystal, which allowed you to freely change into
that class whenever you wanted.
By meeting certain prerequisites, Disciples of War or Disciples of Magic can change from their classes to more specialized jobs. Taking on a job gives characters access to exclusive skills and actions.
PALADIN (PLD)
The paladin job sacrifices maximum HP, but this is compensated by way of greatly enhanced defense as well as the ability to cast he

Still have your FFXIV 1.0 Collector's Edition? You get a Warrior of Light hat and other goodies!
By: Dododoro posted at May 05, 2013 5:51 pm - 1
During Neko Neko Chokaigi back in April, SE revealed that old Collector's Edition buyers for 1.0
will get a Warrior of Light hat, based on the hero of FF1.
It was also revealed that Collector's edition buyers
(bonus if you're a legacy and 1.0 collector's edition buyer)
will get a few extra goodies along with the WoL hat specifically made for the 1.0 CE buyers
who were unhappy with the first game's collector's edition (Some which consisted of moldy unusable tumblers).
More information thus far regarding Phase 3 and other stuff:
- The third (of four) beta testing phases will begin this June. This will also include the PlayStation 3 version of the game.- The game will release this summer “when it’s hot”, perhaps ruling out September. They may be able to announce a date next month.-

FFXIV's Facebook Page shows off what to expect in Phase 3 EDIT: More screens
By: Dododoro posted at May 05, 2013 7:30 am - 1
Last week, Square Enix's FFXIV:ARR director Naoki Yoshida
announced that Phase 3 of BETA has been pushed back
into early June, due to SONY needing to certify the PS3 version
before anymore actions to proceed can be taken.
But that's not stopping SE from sharing what's to come!
Today new screenshots of the re-vamped cities of Limsa Lominsa and Uldah
have surfaced on the developer's facebook page, and probably more will
show up within the coming weeks as Phase 3 (slowly but surely) closes in.

FFXIV A Realm Reborn, PS4 version hinted, wave of information
By: Dododoro posted at Apr 27, 2013 1:33 pm - 0
Many thanks to Dualshockers for this wonderful information!
The Nico Nico Chokaigi 2 event is in full swing at the Makuhari Messe Tokyo and Square Enix is holding a large Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn stage event in collaboration with Windows 8.
During yesterday’s part of the event livestreamed on Nico Nico quite a few interesting information were revealed as director and producer Naoki Yoshida (disguised as a white-haired miqo’te for the occasion)
answered questions from the fans.
Here is a summary of the information that was shared (I may have missed something, but I think I got most of it):
- The game’s release window has been confirmed for this summer simultaneously for PC and PS3.
- A release for the PS4 is very possible, as the team would like to reach an

FFXIV: A Realm Reborn Say "Hello" to MAGITEK ARMOR and other FF game homages
By: Dododoro posted at Apr 11, 2013 7:13 am - 1
Back in 2012, Naoki Yoshida confirmed the existence of "Magitek Armor"
Which was first spotted in the "End of an Era" trailer marking the beginning of FFXIVARR.
It was shown that the Garlean Empire uses this technology as war machines
(But whether or not they can be used as weapons by the players is still in question)
In the latest interview regarding magitek armor, it was said that it
was possible for players to color their magiteks after they get it from
a quest in Ishgard.
In the Video Below the Magitek Armor in-game was a short recreation of Final Fantasy VI 's opening,
with a green haired female hyur and two other characters riding the Magitek Armor in a snowy region,
and a remix of Terra's Theme playing on the background.
Magitek Armor as first seen in FFVI .
FFVI isn't the only

Community Opinion: Are loyalty statuses a bad thing? (FFXIV edition)
By: Dododoro posted at Apr 09, 2013 11:20 am - 2
April 20th will mark the 1st year anniversary of FFXIV's Legacy Campaign.
If you aren't with the times and are a potential player of FFXIV: A Realm Reborn:
Before the final shutdown of version 1.0, on April 20th of last year
Square Enix held a limited time offer for players to grab legacy status which
required players to buy a 3 month sub ($30) in order to get special perks
and also showed their loyalty to the game and SE itself before the
game ultimately got shut down (September 29th).
The players who did get legacy, got a notification from
director/producer Naoki Yoshida himself.
What Legacy Status did for those who bought it:
A subscription discount of $9.99 (Saves $5)
A legacy chocobo mount
Name in credits (registration has begun!)
Legacy status lasts forever
