Hello guys I'm Spammie and today I'm your host for episode 15 of Super Gameplay Time in which I take a look at Hawken Ascension a mech style fps shooter that recently had a huge update that pretty much changed everything related to character progression and customization and how you play the game.
So the first big change that you are going to see from the start is that there is new user interface which is actually really nice on smaller screens as well as bigger screens so moving on from that is quite easy to spot that mechs now have 5 levels instead of 25 also your profile has a rank and each rank give access to new mechs, internals, tunning points(will talk about those in a second), visual customization items and what not. Now if you are a Hawken player for at least 2 weeks you will see that the tech trees have been replaced by tuning screen which is quite interesting because now you don't earn the tuning points for each mech
Hawken is a fast pace ‘free 2 play’ shooter, its main feature is that instead of shooting from the perspective of a person (yourself), you go around in a mech, destroying other mechs or completing other objectives in one of its four game modes.
The game was also featured in the Nvidia drivers installer some time ago, that probably explains why the game have Physx and a lot of explosion and mayhem, the game really looks good. Awesome graphics, awesome explosions and tons of pew pew, don’t forget that everything sounds so beefy if you have some nice headphones.
The game doesn’t really lacks anything in the graphics or sound department, you have very detailed mechs, a lot of special effects, flying debris and very good environments, I really like how the maps look, they are so futuristic and robotish but at the same time they are not ridiculous. The feeling of the game feels very mature to me and not so childish like other robot games, like the defunct Exteel.

Hawken is a Mech first-person shooter developed by Adhesive Games and published by Meteor Entertainment. Upon watching the gameplay trailers and screenshots, I was expecting that the game would require a high end PC specs to run from the looks of the graphics and all. I was surprised that when I downloaded the game, it was just less than 2gb. I even assumed that the quality and experience would be not as expected but apparently it certainly met my expectations. I'll dive into more details on my review of the game soon but for now I wanna talk about the Rocketeer mech. Rocketeer is one of the Mechs that I enjoyed the most. This mech has a very good Armor (HP) and also deals a decent amount of damage. The initial primary weapon fires a continuous single rocket while the secondary weapon, Hellfire Missile launches a number of missiles and deals a great damage and it looks so badass.
