Age of Wushu is a F2P Asian style Sandbox, Martial Arts MMO published by Snail Games.
It's currently Open Beta.
The game is set in Ming Dynasty China and there are 4 possible stories to play through, which also determine where you start out.
You can customize your face in detail, but you only got 5 traditional hairstyles to chose (and no haircolors or eyecolors)
Also you can choose between pieces of 3 sets of starter clothing.
Model detail and texture quality suggest that the game might have been designed to be more P2P or B2P than the usual 08/15 F2P. Only “bad” textures are rocks that were upscaled way too much and therefore show blurry textures, or the walls of towns, which lack details and are pretty blurry too.
Good Ambient sounds and nice BGMs which change depending on the map.
WASD or LMB for movement, RMB for cam movement. 1 - 0 + Ctrl+1 - Ctrl+0 for skills.
Space for jumping (You can actually jump up slopes or even on someContinue Reading

I personally was going around looking at different guides and places. That said they do this to get food and etc. I decided to make something very simple and convenient. Basically here is a quick guide on keeping yourself fed and making a little profit on being a chef in Wushu.
For people who don't like videos. Long story short make a alt play until you complete your intro to whatever school you picked. Level your inner skill to level 2. This will allow you to choose life skills. You can then choose chef and farmer to support it. Buy the steamed bun recipe or whatever recipe you like from the chef. Also buy a bunch of dew maybe like 100. You will have plenty Liang to burn by that time. However steamed bun is the most cost effective. Head over to the farmer in the farm area.
Now once you're in the farm area buy wheat seeds from the farmer. From this point plant as manContinue Reading

Playing a game and understanding it are two different things. What I mean by this is you can easily play any game. And never even truly understand what exactly you should be doing in a game. Age of Wushu is a game that this is very evident in. Now is the game impossible? No it’s not it just takes a little bit more brain power then usually needed. Immediately probably 40% reading or watch this vid just left. Not that they can’t handle it just they have no patience for it.
If your still here great this is where I make the game a whole lot simpler for you. I’ll start by saying in this game you have no set parameter you need to be doing. You do have a set story path you can choose at the start of your character creation. But after that what you do in the game is totally up to you. If you want to be a beggar by career you can do that. If you want to be a bad ass assassin you can do that. Anything is inbounds in this game and the RP choices are limitless.
One of the maContinue Reading
About two months ago, I gave this game a quick look. Back then I wasn’t really feeling it wrote it off as another grinder. Well after getting a lot of mails on how it’s changed. I decided to look at it one more time. And give it an honest fair review, as it gets into beta on 4/10/2013.
Well to be honest starting off it’s still a grinder. But with that said it has a lot to do compare to most average grinders. How you grind is cleverly hidden with life skills and jobs. Now that’s not bad because some skills you actually want to do. And the benefit for doing all this is a bad ass fighter is born. Some of the animations are still a little weird and not centered. Like the Shaolin styles all seem to leave you in a weird axis.
That problem is available in all the styles but more so in that one. This is a pvp game so don’t like for mercy. Very strong people are already running around crouching tiger punching noobs in the face. It hasn’t happen to me yet, but it will just aContinue Reading
Age of Wushu is a fantasy martial arts game, its one of those hybrid mmos taking features from the old school first generation mmos and the more contemporary second generation mmos. You do quests and kill stuff around in some places but at the same time your leveling is class less and it happens over time.
Standard character creator, it gets the job done without anything too fancy.
One of the things that got my attention is the way your character progression works, instead of leveling up in a more classic or obvious way, you have to get xp over time by playing the game and then you use that sort of XP to upgrade your individual skills. How to do it…? Well that is the thing, you can do it over time or by expending some in-game currency. Character progression is kinda bizarre in this game. It’s not bad, but it’s strange.
Those are some of my menu options, all around the screen.
When I got into the game for the first time, I notice that the interface is full of menus, it can be very overwhelContinue Reading
I had to do a second look. Because the first look ended up being too loud lol...
The game has some promise attacks look really well done. But it has a major centering problem. And appears too stiff on simple animations while its fluid on advanced ones.

This video will show you my first combat training in AoW.
Excuse me for the poor audio. It was a day time recording and I had to remove some background noises.
A little more words here.... I think my first combat training experience is not too bad. Although I find I have to keep clicking on my mouse for each task for each story lines.. click click click click click...
At one time I even got confused and try click on a human player instead of an NPC. eeekkkk
