If you missed it, another game with a subscription fee is going free to play, this time it is Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising. This is actually a game I played in the beta stages, and even wrote a first impression article, which if you're interested you can check out here: http://news.mmosite.com/content/2011-06-17/gods_and_heroes_rome_rising_first_impression,1.shtml . Long story short, I played it, it seemed okay, but I didn't think it was really a p2p worthy game. But who knows, when I played it, it was during the beta, and I am sure in that time they had time to do a lot of work on the game to approve it.
It seems like the decision to do the switch wasn't sudden, since on their site they said they have been working on getting this done for several months now. But they're notContinue Reading

Way back in 2006 this game was in development by Perpetual Entertainment, and I for one was sorely disappointed when I heard that it would never see the light of day. In this case, I am happy to be wrong.
Gods & Heroes is an interesting little game set in ancient Rome, where you play a seasoned hero bent on revenge after a devastating blow to your family. The game features four classes: The soldier, the gladiator, the mystic, and the priest. Gods and Heroes is one of those games that I've been waiting to play for years, literally. Back in the day, when the game was being designed by Perpetual, I was excited to see a mythology based MMO. Unfortunately they put a lid on it in 2008 and many of us morned the loss to the genre. Last year though, we heard word that Heatwave Interactive had taken up the project. It's been a year since Heatwave released the news that they acquired GnH, and we're just now seeing the fruits of their labor.
Yesterday Heatwave released a set of screenshots previewing what the player characters will look like in Gods and Heroes. So far they look pretty basic, but with a clean visual style that still leans toward the interesting. Take a look and see what you think. &nbsContinue Reading
