Should you play? Neverwinter

By: Scion Storm posted at Apr 10, 2016 4:49 pm

I consider this game the quiet but solid dark horse of mmo. The game is constantly updated and kept fresh. It does have very pay2win things existing inside it. You can bypass these things and even own them yourself for free. But it will cost you a little at first in fact. I would say it may cost you something like 50-100usd lifetime. After that you pretty much never have to pay again. But that is up to your skill and understanding of the game. I give Neverwinter a 3 out of 3 on playing it. I suggest at least giving it a shot it's free to try. Especially if your a story driven player.

Neverwinter Online (SIP) Should I Play series

By: Scion Storm posted at Aug 20, 2014 4:24 am

Neverwinter has given me a nice shock. It improved vastly since my videos last year. And all you can ask of a game is improvement. You should also take note this is a Perfect World game. Which means anything is possible when PWE doesn't mess something up totally.

With that said this game does have some minor pay2win. Mostly it has to do with crafting boosters. And the epic quality pets you can outright buy. But its not really that big of a deal. What I was looking for is outright buying gear. You can't really do that at all. You can get lucky and get things in lock boxes. But that's a lotto gamble. No one is going to be gearing up through that.

The new module updated many of the classes and made things streamlined. And has ushered in the Scourge Warlock. Which is extremely fun to play. Yo

Nanbo's Neverwinter Experience Levels 30 - 40

By: Nanbo posted at Apr 29, 2014 4:39 am

Hello all MMOSITE people, visitors, and all other creatures! This next evolving review is for Neverwinter online. Last time I took us through this game I did a level 20 - 30 review. This was right after Thanks Giving of 2013 and I had not gone back into the game. Well, new content is coming soon and I wanted to get back into a game to review. In my last review (found HERE) I gave this game a 2,5/5 rating. Things have changed! Join me in this review as I dish out some changes and get an over all feel as I press on to end game hitting level 40 this week. I will also be doing an in depth Cash Shop and Currency review. Will the score rise, lower, or remain the same? Read on!

Neverwinter: Hunter Ranger and Companions Offline First Look

By: Scion Storm posted at Dec 27, 2013 3:14 am

I must say I would reroll and and play as a Hunter Ranger. If I had the time to do things like that. Also the offline companions leveling is kinda cool. The shadowmantle patch looks really good for the game.

Nanbo's Neverwinter Experience Levels 20 - 30

By: Nanbo posted at Dec 01, 2013 11:10 am
After a little break to enjoy some Thanksgiving Turkey, I plopped down to finish up some last few levels to level 30 in Neverwinter. Before going into my levels 20-30, you can find my last reviews here:

Levels 1-10: http://my.mmosite.com/4069628/blog/item/nanbos_neverwinter_experience_levels_1_10.html

Levels 10-20: http://my.mmosite.com/4069628/blog/item/nanbos_neverwinter_experience_levels_10_20.html

You will note in my first run I had a score of 4/5. In the next run I had an evolving score of 3.5 as the game started to take a turn for the mediocre. What happened half way to end game? Will this game gain, lose, or retain it's score? Read on!

Here are my notes in chronological order:

Overdue News Week: Neverwinter + Fury of the Feywild Review

By: LordYanLiang posted at Nov 28, 2013 7:46 pm

So as I promised, it's time to dig into Neverwinter at long last and close out this week of overdue news.

I don't think Neverwinter needs any introduction, but for anyone who isn't aware: Neverwinter is the latest new title from Cryptic Studios, published by Perfect World Entertainment, that returns players to the familiar world of the Sword Coast as depicted in Neverwinter Nights. Though Neverwinter itself is only loosely based on NWN, the story is a faithful adaptation of the events happening within the Sword Coast with the guidance and blessings of Wizards of the Coast. The game uses the Cryptic Engine, used in other Cryptic games like Star Trek Online and Champions Online, and it employs a modified version of the 4th Edition D&D rules for character creation and the like. Overdue News Week: Exclusive Neverwinter Interview

By: LordYanLiang posted at Nov 27, 2013 11:04 pm

Welcome back to news catchup week, or as it'll soon be called, "I love Cryptic" week.

They ARE pretty damn cool.

During the early stages of Neverwinter's closed beta, I had prepared some questions to ask Andy Velasquez, Cryptic's Lead Producer, about Neverwinter and some of the things we might expect for the game's launch, which I had sent some time around March. As things got crazy, we bounced plans around until I was able to actually sit down and have a conversation with him on June 5th. While we had enough time to go through NEARLY all of my questions, we were sadly never able to finish up. So what I present to you today is a fragment of that exclusive interview.

With Neverwinter proper and Fury of the Feywild well in place, not to mention Shadowmantle just a week away, some o
