CosmicBreak EU 2nd CBT

Online game developer CyberStep starts the second closed beta for its game, CosmicBreak. The beta testing period will begin at 12:00 noon CET on Wednesday, 5th of December 2012. Interested players will be able to sign up for the beta on the official site below. There will also be events during the beta period so keep your eyes peeled for updates on the official site.

CosmicBreak is an anime style 3D MMO third person shooter adventure with big robots, colorful and explosive PvP battles with up to 60 people at once, and fast-paced missions in a universe long ruled by galactic anarchy. Players will belong to one of the 3 unions, each led by the long-dormant race of gigantic robots called Arks. An immersive editor mode makes this game rather unique from other PvP games.

Level Editor in a MMO?

MMO players... are you sick of playing in the same old boring stage? How about you create your own dungeon in an RPG or your own level in an MMOFPS?

Well it's already started. Cosmic Break gives you a stage editor for you to make maps for up to 5 v 5 Team Battles. I took a brief look at it and it wasn't so bad. I do wonder how an MMO would allow users to make maps and allow the clients to play them. Also the added plus to give players the freedom to make and contribute maps within the whole community.

It also does make me wonder what kind of map a player would make. I believe players aren't experts in making a map  and would be a case of making it unfair for one sides because they have the power to do this. There would be a few that would take advangate of it in way you wouldn

Cosmic Break Review

Cosmic Break is an MMO that revolves around robots that fight it out for various purposes. It is action and instance based. Think of it as something like Armored Core, but with cutesy graphics. For a game with surprisingly simple graphics, there is actually a high level of customization available.


The game revolves around your character being chosen by the 3 leaders/gods who choose robots to fight it out in order to ressurect them. As a result, you have to choose one of the factions they represent. Although they are working to revive their leader, they have to keep the forces of Chaos (AI/mission enemies) in check.


At first glance, the graphics are very plain and simplistic. Each of the available robots serve as a base. The way to make your robot unique is through customization.
