Digimon RPG online is coming!
Category: Default
Posted on Mar 10, 2008
WOW, is it ture? CDC Games will bring the Digimon RPG online to the US in late 2008. That's awesome!
Digimon RPG online is developed by a Korean company SK Telecom. It's strange that so many good animes that from Japan come into MMO by Korean company, such as Dragonball Online, and this one. Anyway, I love Digimon since I'm young, so I'm looking forward to it too.

The news:
ATLANTA & BEIJING - CDC Games, a business unit of CDC Corporation (NASDAQ: CHINA) and pioneer of the "free-to-play, pay for merchandise" model for online games in China, announced today it has licensed "Digimon RPG" and "Digimon RPG2," the massively multiplayer online role playing games (MMORPG) based on a Japanese television animated series, for distribution in North America and The People's Republic of China from SK Telecom, a leading mobile telecommunications operator in South Korea.

Best ever PSP game

"The ancient world speaks of a mortal that slayed a God. But long before his battle with Ares, Kratos sought absolution from his past sins by pledging himself as a champion to the Gods. These brutal crusades in the name of Olympus became legendary.
The Ghost of Sparta is now ordered by the Gods to journey the underworld, after the world plunges into darkness. There he must face the most feared creatures of Greek Mythology and forced to choose between his own personal redemption and saving the ancient world from certain destruction. "
You might guess the name already: God of War: Chains of Olympus. Yes, congratulations, you're right!
I've got it on my PSP, and will probably play it on this weekend. Cool, can't wait for it!

Anyone have played it? Tell me how do you feel about this game....

Webzen's crisis - the crisis of major Korean MMORPG developers?
Category: Default
Posted on Mar 02, 2008
Webzen had a splendent time several years ago, since it released first MMORPG "MU Online". But now, it faces a crisis - Korean company Liveplex and NEOWAVE who keep Webzen's stock join together and might bring a hurricane to Webzen. They are now keeping 11.46% stock which is larger than Webzen's CEO who keeps 6% stock. So the CEO will probably be fired and many managers will be changed too in Webzen.
Webzen is over the hill since bots and private servers of "MU Online" spreaded in 2003. And after four years financial deficit, its new MMORPG "SUN" and "Huxley" still didn't save itself. What's the future of Webzen? Who konws. But I wish things would be better after it's reformed.
And same thing happened to other major Korean MMORPG developers too. Such as Tabula Rasa Totally Tanked? NCSoft Austin Downsizing?, Japan's GungHo to acquire S.Korea Gravity majority. Many of the former famous Korean MMORPG developers are now in crisis. Why did these happen? Does it mean we're all bored of Korean MMORPG now? I think Korean MMORPG developers should consider why and how to change their game. Otherwise more and more players will abandon those boring and non...

RO's developer is acquired by Japanese company
Category: game blog
Posted on Feb 21, 2008
I was shocked by a news several days ago: Japan's GungHo to acquire S.Korea Gravity majority
" Japan's GungHo Online Entertainment Inc said on Thursday it would take a 52.4 percent stake in South Korean game maker Gravity Co Ltd to boost its development and marketing strength."
WTF? Maybe you don't know GungHo Online Entertainment Inc, but most of you must know Gravity company. It's famous because of its classic MMORPG: Ragnarok online. I know many of you were addicted in MMORPG from RO as the start.
I can't believe Gravity was controlled by just those little money($37 million). What does that mean? Will GungHo affect RO2? I've no idea, but I wish RO2 will become as good as RO in future.
