RunDLC Week of 04/11/2011
Welcome to another installment of RunDLC. Last week was weak people, so weak there was no reason to post an update. There was one shining gem, but it was so deeply encrusted in the weak releases of last week it took me another week just to chip it out of the surface. Last week's shining champion was actually a DSi Ware title, but that is only because there was nothing else new in the digital wasteland for us RPG'ers. So this week I'm starting off with the Nintendo Wii, enjoy it while it lasts.

Anonymous Notes Chapter 1— From the Abyss (DSi Ware) — A roleplaying game on DSiWare? These are strange days indeed, with this effort from Sonic Powered Co. promising infinitely rearranging dungeons, magic, monsters and more. We'll cast Journalistic Appraisal le
RunDLC Week of 03/28/2011
Welcome to RUN DLC! A newly renamed column, formerly Downloadable Content. (Thanks to our Editor Mandifesto for the name change.) This week we’ve got some “decent” offerings, still a little weak but better than the desert of the past two weeks. You’ll notice the Wii brought nothing to play with this time, so I’m making it sit alone at the table. If you don’t share you can’t play with the others, bad Wii.
For X-Box 360 this week we have:
Mass Effect 2: The Arrival - (DLC) A deep cover operative has gone missing in Batarian space, days after reporting conclusive evidence of an imminent Reaper invasion. Shepard must travel to the edge of the galaxy, rescue the Alliance agent, and discover the truth behind the Arrival. Uncover new

Welcome to this week’s Downloadable Content update. We’re a week late but honestly there wasn’t much to talk about last week. Nintendo went back to it’s weak release list and X-Box completely screwed the pouch on RPG related downloads. This week the strong contender and the only contender is Playstation.
For X-Box 360 this week we have:
Mavlock’s Notes: Are you ready WEAVER!?! You get nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! YOU SO STUPID! That’s how a feel when I look at the list of releases for XBLA the past two weeks. After the initial release of Torchlight and Dragon Age 2 release day DLC, I’m left empty and bitter. Nothing worth talking about for the Xbox these past two weeks, so go finish playing Dragon Age 2.
Next up is PSN (Playstation Network

Welcome to this week’s Downloadable Content update. After last weeks awesome PSONE releases this week is a bit of a let down save for a shining gem. Well I tell you right now, day zero DLC for a game is not the way to win me over.
For X-Box 360 this week we have:
Dragon Age 2 Exiled Prince (DLC) – Sworn to the priesthood as a boy, the noble archer Sebastian Vael is thrust back into the viper's nest of princely politics when his family is brutally murdered, leaving him as the sole surviving heir. Choose to either avenge Sebastian's murdered family and reclaim his title or direct his holy vengeance on your enemies in Kirkwall.
Mavlock Notes:Day one DLC? No, I completely disagree with this. I could give two lumps if it was content for the “Collector’s Edition” and

Welcome to this week’s Downloadable Content update. I was out last week but now we’re back with an actual release for Wii on their Virtual Console. I honestly thought they had given up on it and they handed us a solid release last week. Also two great titles for the classic PSONE system, staples of any true Squaresoft fan. (Yeah I know they have a new name now.)
For X-Box 360 this week we have:
Fable III Traitor’s Keep game add-on – The Traitor’s Keep game add-on continues the journey as fans venture into three new levels called Ravenscar Keep, Clockwork Island, and the Godwin Estate, taking on new quests and encountering a mysterious prisoner. Traitor’s Keep also comes packed with 250 gamerscore points and additional content.

Happy Valentines Day and welcome to this week’s Downloadable Content update. Every week we’ll feature content for consoles and PCs that pertain to RPG, RPG Mechanics, or just tickle our fancy. This week is dominated by classic Playstation Strategy RPG titles, remakes, and some clothing for your X-Box Live Avatar.
For X-Box 360 this week we have:
Torchlight collection (Avatar Marketplace) - A set of Torchlight inspired garments and accessories for your X-Box Live Avatar.
Mavlock’s Notes:What better way to torture us than to release a set of avatar market swag before they release the game. That’s down right evil. For those of you who haven’t taken the plunge into Torchlight on the PC, get ready for some classic style hack-n-slash dungeon action. Also like to note X

Welcome to this week’s Downloadable Content update. Every week we’ll feature content for consoles and PCs that pertain to RPG, RPG Mechanics, or just tickle our fancy. This week we have Russian stacking dolls, fancy close to save the universe in, and vengeful horsemen.
For X-Box 360 this week we have:
Stacking— From Tim Schafer’s Double Fine Productions, explore a vintage world inhabited by living Russian stacking dolls as you jump into more than 100 unique dolls and use their special abilities to solve a wide variety of puzzles & challenges. Play as Charlie Blackmore, the world’s tiniest Russian stacking doll, and embark on an adventure to rescue Charlie’s family from the nefarious industrialist known only as the “Baron.” This imagin
RPGs on the Android
In the past gaming on our cell phones and PDA’s has been a severely limited market. Add to that the difficulty of making an easy to control title on a phone interface using only the available key bad was a large hurdle. While some companies took the challenge and did well there just wasn’t much to choose from in quality RPGs. As smart phones continue to take over and the touch interface is refined RPGs and RPG like games are finding a new home in our mobile life lines. Since moving to my Android phone I’ve been extremely happy with the productivity applications I had at my finger tips but we all know in this chest beats a gamer’s heart. It wasn’t long before I had my phone overloaded with a plethora of titles to keep me entertained on my commute to and f
Faery: Legends of Avalon announced
There is a new game on the horizon for our gaming and RPG pleasure, Faery: Legends of Avalon. This week they released new screenshots showing the glorious vistas in store.
The makers of Faery: Legends of Avalon label it as a Role Playing / Adventure game and from the visuals I’m excited to see more. The player will have the option of choosing an Elf or Fairy that will “evolve during the course of the story”. These evolutions will allow you to change the look, spells, and special abilities of your characters. I am a bit confused about the Adventure part, since they say battles will be turn-based. Granted I’m always looking for novel use of already existed game mechanics, so if they have found a successful way to blend RPG/Adventure with turn-based combat I will be the
