DotA 2 - Build: Juggernaught's Joke; "Fancy finding you here!"
By: KradisZ posted at Aug 12, 2012 4:48 am
This is going into my new category of Guides since its the first I felt I should mention it :P.
Now before anything is read I just want to mention these builds are simply for fun or ridiculousness I don't know its viability/usefulness since every time I've tried it its either complete success or doomed failure or the masses come flaming. I don't think anyone would actually build this since I haven't seen any of it in game other than from myself but I do remember in the DotA 1 days some friends laughed pretty hard when it was achieved. Apart from that I still do it in DotA2 and works very much the same (Yeay to Valve for literally keeping what they said, "The game mechanics will not change and be very familiar to that of DotA 1")
Hero: Juggernaught
Power Treads(INT) - Okay... sure... wtf INT?
OR Arcane Boots over Power Treads - Ok you're a noob bye.
Scythe Vyse - Wtf?
Refresher Orb - Uh yeah maybe?
Force Staff - Seriously...?
Aghanim's Scepter - I think I might know where you're going...
Divine Rapier/Butterfly - What?
Ok this is full of nonsense I'm gonna stop reading here bye.
So what this build does is the target is to create a disable for Juggernaught and to basically focus on his nukes, and spells. Blade Fury(Q), Healing Ward(W), Omnislash(R). For me it was to feel like Cloud Strife from FF7 back in the day.
Core Idea:
Double Omnislash
In the beginning...(Easy part)
You want to buy yourself a Boots of Speed and the 400 HP over 10 seconds healing potion for 100 gold leaving you with 3 gold remaining before first wave, and learn your Blade Fury(Q) first. Why? Well that 500 400 damage over 5 seconds nuke is just too sweet to ignore(Even though I ignored it many times... NOOB... *facepalm* Edit: WRONG INFO NOOB *facepalm* fixed... its 80 x 5 = 400 zz).
Your strategy whichever lane you go is to try and block the creeps as much as you can in the first wave. What's the point in doing this other than trying to make sure you get creeps, gold and exp? Positioning
Make sure you're also going into a lane where you're not solo and is either top if you're Dire, or bot if you're Radiant. You'll need at least a stunner/slow/free-harassing-opportunity-on-your-team-mate for this beginning to be GREAT and not just MEDIOCRE. And hope that your team mate knows what you're doing without hating it(Or do it in secret, for the Mysteries! :P). I'm targetting fun here, not win or loss.
With the creep blocking successful and if you're able to go around the trees to position yourself behind the enemy, have your team mate stunner/slower initiate and hope he doesn't die before you close the distance. Basically you flank your enemy in the lane.
With simple math, a reduction of the 500 400 damage nuke from base stats of Magic Resist = 25% you have 375 300 damage to dish out. + your pal's stun/slow somewhere about 100-150damage reduced to 75-137, totalling about 375 damage.
Most level one characters have somewhere around 492-701 health. If he/she acts with you with normal attacks, melee or ranged, that's about 30-50 damage per normal attack, not to mention you have Boots of Speed to walk with the enemy and keep hitting him/her after if he/she isn't dead yet.
Most of the time with the lane positioning to all the creeps on your side and them being far from their tower you can generally get that guaranteed kill in the beginning if the team doesn't sit back and wait for waves to go by and reach their own tower. Don't forget you're Magic Immune when performing Blade Fury(Q). So no need to worry about getting stopped when closing your distance from the other end. If you're skilled enough to time it you can even have them waste a disable on you if it has to fly before hitting so you can block it with your Blade Fury(Q). So if you can walk with your enemy for 5 seconds they have nothing but to suffer 375 damage, if you're lucky they'll walk together and both take 375 damage.
If you get that first blood from your Blade Fury(Q) + the helper's nuke/slow, you should be able to kill the other guy's support, if not their carry if they're top or bottom, then you go on to make your Perserverence next.
The Perserverence (The hardest part)
You need this to stay in lane and farm as much as you can, buy a Quelling Blade if you want to make it easier on yourself from the lane shop unless you're REALLY good at it. Don't learn Critical Strike it'll mess you up sometimes by chance it's easier to stay consistent damage with every hit for last hitting place it in Statistics Upgrade(U) or Healing Ward(W) Max Blade Fury(Q) ASAP. If you get that first blood great! You're already super fast into the build. If not farm up the Ring of Health and try to find opportunities to kill the enemy with Blade Fury early on. Once you reach about Level 9 its usefulness starts to decrease for a 1 spell-kill-nuke+teammatestun. At about the 10 minute mark you should have your Perserverence already and a Quelling Blade too and possibly the Power Treads(INT). To make things easier switch to Agility when farming and INT when you need the small mana regen or bonus shot of mana to make the 10 mana you're short of a spell. If you stay in lane long enough you can level up quickly and out level the other player. You have your Healing Ward(W) to also help with it in case you need to regenerate HP fast and get back to hitting creeps in the situation where you get harassed a lot, and you can run to the enemy's secret shop to get the Void Stone after. Which you should have by about level 7 or 8 if possible. Upon obtaining the Perserverence you want to make your Oblivion Staff next. Make sure you DON'T GO BACK TO TOWN like EVER.
Death and Oblivion is on its way...(a fairly hard part)
already moving... onwards to pure enemy death and invincibility.
When you're farming your Oblivion Staff you should be well into level 8 or 9 maybe even 10 or 11. So by now you have your Omnislash(R) since you're well past 6. Some new areas to mention are the river and the enemy jungle.
If you can afford it place a ward in their jungle somewhere where you think someone would go at some intersection a lot. And check for runes at every 2 minute mark. (2:00, 4:00 etc. NOT 2:56 4:56) Why? These areas are the most dangerous to be in for an enemy if they are by themselves against Juggernaught. His ultimate is basically 3/6/9 free hits ranging from 150-250 Physical damage. If the target is alone you do full damage. Which when reduced on average champs of about 2-6 armor you'll be dealing around 400 damage or so, not to mention you can Blade Fury and walk with them after since its a blink strike(meaning it places you right next to the enemy afterwards). So execution would go like R -> QQQQQQQQQQQ. So many Q's just to make sure you spin right after. If you're able to get the Oblivion Staff by about 15-20 minutes that's pretty good with all the other things before this step.
Remember by this step you still haven't returned to town. You can build an Oblivion Staff just from the lane shop. Courier not needed if your team is lazy to even buy one
Obtaining the Scythe of Vyse is no easy task. You need a total of 5675 gold to make it (2700 Mystic Staff, 875 Void Stone, 2100 Ultimate Orb). You should of course start with the Mystic Staff first if you can, if you think you won't die or well you shouldn't have if you've been playing safe, get it FIRST. Why? It grants a boost and hell of a lot of Mana. It is also the most expensive item you need in this build and everything else is cheaper than it afterwards.
Which you NEED to accomplish the end goal of 18/24 free hits and about 9 seconds of invulnerability. This includes the previous step's strategy. Continue farming and sitting in lane and amassing more gold.
Another strategy is every time your lane is pushed too far, head into the forest and start getting more gold there, don't even think about stopping, you kill that creep group near the trees in bottom closest to lane and use your Quelling Blade cut through the tree and just walk forward to the next one by the cliff near the rune every second COUNTS.
If you've managed to obtain the Scythe of Vyse by the 30-40 minute mark, your build is successfully killer if your team hasn't been feeding and you're sitting at 0 or 1 deaths with all the other gear included(Power Treads, Perserverence, Quelling Blade, Oblivion Staff, Scythe of Vyse). At which point your inventory slots are 5/6. Going in this order it'll never be full where you can't carry an item to have it combine on the spot to make room for another.
Trust me I've done this multiple times and always end up laughing my head off if I've reached this stage at that time mark. Because everyone's going wtf is wrong with that jugg.
Don't even talk to your team unless it's actual serious business about ganking/killing an enemy hero, ignore all criticism it helps.
By now you're probably thinking man this fool must've been playing against some retarded enemies.
Not really if you last hit every creep every wave that's about 200 gold every 30 seconds, you're allowed to miss maybe about... 2 waves of creeps in the length of time it takes(So by about 30 minutes with the first minute and half = no creeps that should be 11400 gold, take away 400 if you missed 2 waves), with some waves being replaced by jungle monster cash since the lane is too far and dangerous. Don't want to risk a death. A hero kill is a fast forward of about a wave of creeps + 1 more, (265 gold) or 30 seconds less(1 wave every 30s).
Pfft yeah as if that's possible there's tons of creep denying going on and everything newb.
Perfect! Keep an eye on your enemy watch who's doing the harassing if it's a melee, get your stunner/slower guy to watch a creep near low health and watch the enemy hero walk up to it to deny it, stun/slow you walk in JUGGGGERRRRNAUUGGHHHTTT (Blade Fury). Walk with that jerk that's denying you and kill him. Bonus +1 wave of creeps.
Ranged Support/Carry? No problem instead of your support/team mate laner goes to pull creeps, YOU pull the creeps instead, drawing the lane back making you go out of vision and going around the back, the enemy ranged is probably too busy watching creep health bars to even care to look behind them and while still dealing with the last wave before finishing it off. Refer to step 1 for this process the boots of speed part.
Since you now have the Scythe of Vyse, which you never went back to town to build it(Mystic Staff, Void Stone - Secret Shop, Ultimate Orb - Lane shop), you can pretty much bully anyone in your lane or anyone for that fact until you have enough gold for Refresher Orb Recipe(Oooohh) and have the Courier deliver it to you. To reiterate you still haven't gone back to town once yet in the optimal situation(Which I have done many times). And your Omnislash(R) is probably at level 2 or 3. Being that you never left your lane and tower hugging/jungling you're probably also higher level than everyone too. Now if you've read up to here I haven't gone over any skill levelling order. I'll go over it now.
Skill Tree
Level 1 -> Blade Fury(Q)
Level 2 -> Healing Ward(W)
Level 3-> Blade Fury Level 2(Q)
Level 4 -> Statistics Upgrade(U) +2 to All stats.
Level 5 -> Blade Fury Level 3(Q)
Level 6 -> Omnislash (R)
Level 7 -> Blade Fury Level 4(Q)
Level 8-10 -> Statistics Upgrade 2, 3, 4(U) +8 to All stats.
Level 11 -> Omnislash Level 2(R)Level 12 -> Critical Strike(E)
Level 13 -> 15 -> Statistics Upgrade 5, 6, 7(U) +14 to All stats.
Level 16 -> Omnislash Level 3(R) or Stats. (Situational Dependent)
Wait what do you mean situational dependent?
Dependent on whether or not you'll have enough Mana to perform the double Omnislash Hex task.
The build requires you to have at least 1025 Mana. (OMG! yes 1025 I know 350(R) + 350(R) + 375(Refresh) is not 1025).
If indeed you do have all of these items by about the 30-40 minute mark, your damage output is ridiculous already just by ultimate and regular attack not to mention you have an extra disable for your team.
No way... your attack is probably garbage.
Refresher Orb +40 damage +78 mana, Stats +14 to everything (266 bonus Hp, 182 extra mana, 14 extra attack from agility, 14% more attack damage/s being attack speed, 2 extra armor from bonus agility), Scythe of Vyse +10 to everything +25 more to Intelligence(bonus 190 hp, bonus 10 attack, bonus 10% to attack damage/s being attack speed, 455 extra mana, +1 to armor and 3 to add to a multiple of 7 where every 7 agility = +1 armor), Power Treads (INT) (bonus 104 mana).
Total of data from all gear so far:
At level 16 - 1100 HP 91 base attack damage 481 mana, 9.96 armor 0.96 atks/s<- Base Stats.
With Gear and Skills:
1556 HP = 1100 + 266 + 190
1196 Mana**** - Well over the amount of 1025. = 481 + 182 + 455 + 78
155 Attack Damage +/- 8 from treads, 147-163 with 15% chance to make it 294-326 damage. Not bad. Don't forget you got a hex.
1.55 attacks per second = IAS = (1 + ( 14(stats)+10(stats)+25(treads) ) /100 ) / 0.96(baseatkspd)
~227.8 Damage Per Second No critical hits calculated in.
~15 Armor = 9.96 armor + 2 + 2.6 = 47% Damage Reduction I think? .06 * 15 / 1 + .06 * 15. bad math idk.
At this point, you're geared up first time leaving your lane pray to god your team hasn't died a lot and hasn't fed very much, you being the only 16 or one of the few 16s on the map due to never leaving the lane and permanently gaining exp up to this point.
You go on your rampage and taste the fruits of your labor.
OR You can farm a Force Staff to ensure death upon foes.
Best area of interest: Enemy Secret Shop and River or Enemy Ancients in that order
Combo designation:
Enemy spotted!
Scythe Hex -> 3.5 Seconds ->
Walk up and hit him/her a few times maybe even lure other heroes nearby enemy down 3 attacks suppose it takes you 1.5 second to walk up to him from the hex cast distance, 2 seconds of dps so about 454 damage with chance of criticals reduced down to 200-300 damage depending target armor or do it like me 2 regular attacks and direct into Omnislash so they can't blink away if they got blink, then mash refresh orb scythe again Omnislash again.
Order of operation for mana cost -> 100 + 350 + 375 + 100 + 350 + 110 bladefury finish/escape. Hang on a sec that's 1385... Ha! But you got crazy mana regeneration so don't worry, while you're omnislashing through those 2 times you regen about 100 of it back already and by the end of that 2nd omnislash its enough to do a bladefury escape.
Situational -> What? it's a 3 on 1? No problem! Throw Omnislash. 9 hits if you don't have Aghanim's. About 2-3 seconds of invulnerability slicing your foes. One being nearly dead already probably by the end of it.
Mash Refresh Orb hotkey and prepare hex on a different target, get finger ready on R for Omnislash again, click someone who's about to die so you jump between 2 heroes only after that first jump finishing them off. Another 9 hits. If all your enemies had 50% physical damage reduction your total output would be 1350-2250 damage being every hit ranging from 150-250 phys damage. But that's highly unlikely so it's more around 1764 - 2925 physical damage between 3 targets with 35% phys reduction. If their hp pool between the 3 don't even add up to 3000 expect to kill them all.
Forcing the situation - Get the Force Staff
Then every area is Best Interest to go killing!
Combo designation:
Enemy Carry Spotted!
Charge at an enemy hex him/her -> force him away from mobs -> Omnislash -> watch and laugh.
Not dead?
Refresh -> hex him again-> hit him a few times if you can count 123 to make sure you still have your window of opportunity of the hex on -> shove him/her even farther from allies/mobs just watch where the chicken is facing and Omnislash him again.
TL;DR
----------------------------------------------------------
Effectiveness: Brutal
Difficulty Obtaining: Super Hard.
Viability: No idea it's like a 50/50 chance of being ultra useful or ultra useless.
Late game - Dual disable, 8-9second invulnerability if timed properly, people won't know where you end up after you're done omnislashing which I count as invisibility/invulnerability, damage output - approx 3000 nuke split between 1-18 targets depending on how skilled you are lowering that 18 targets; being the worst case scenario.
Late game improvements: Aghanim's Scepter -> Increase of Ult damage to approx 3900 damage on one enemy if enemy has 35% armor reduction.
Problems: 50 second gap between refresher and omnislash's base CD time. Worst case & Best case, this situation happens once every 160seconds. With its regular undoubled-non-refreshed amount being 110 seconds. Which is divide everything by 2 since no refresher, *2 with refresher.
End comments: I can't upload videos 'cause I don't know how to take my replays out of Steam and convert them to avi or mp4. So sorry I can't demonstrate. (If you think up a way let me know in comments! I'd be happy to show)
MatchID: 32528044 - I went Butterfly instead of Scythe.
Went situational items for both Butterfly and Force Staff due to the 3 death screw up.
Demonstration:
Watch -> Recent Games -> Filter -> MatchID -> 32528044
MatchID: 32795523 - Aghanim's Rush
As always comments are welcome please keep it civil.
