Eve Online - The Hulkageddon is DEAD!!!!!!

Hey peeps, it looks like the Hulkageddon is dead for good...!!!! I dont know if you peeps know it but Inferno 1.2 made some serious changes to every mining barge in the game, including the Tech 2 variants... Back in the day, every mining barge was a stepping stone because in the end the best ship for your standard asteroid mining was the Hulk...

Now CCP changed every mining barge... They boosted the defenses and redefine each ship role...

Procurer and Skiff = Tanking Miner!!!!!

Retriever and Mackinaw = Big cargo hold (AFK mining friendly)...

Covetor and Hulk = Orca friendly!!! Good for big mining operations...

On top of those changes, take into consideration that now your Ore doesn't go directly into your 'Normal Cargo bay'... When you mine some asteroids, every little piece of Ore is going to end up in a special compartment inside your ship by the name of 'Ore Hold'... That kinda helps your tank because you dont need to fit a bunch of 'Expanded Cargohold II' modules into your ship, without those modules, you dont reduce your armor and you can also fit a nice 'Damage Control II' module or Mining Upgrade modules...

Why in the hell the Hulkageddon is DEAD????

Because ganking a miner is not so easy anymore!!!! I know that in theory you can gank anyone in highsec but ganking a ship with 36k hp is probably going to be hard, you will need a nice group of gankers and in the end you and your friends are going to waste a lot of ISK... I am wondering if the Goons or whoever is behind the hulkageddon is going to increase the rewards to make it lucrative once again...

Keep in mind that ganking a ship with 36K defense is not so easy and if you do, is going to be very expensive.

If you dont care about protection becuase all you want is to leave your ship mining while you take a walk, then you should get a Retriever or a Machinaw. I heard they are the miners of the future, because no matter how hard CCP try... Mining is for the most part an AFKing business and the Retrievers and Mackinaws are the AFK miner best friend because they have the mining yeild of 3 mining beams and at the same time they have a very large 'Ore Hold' I am not 100% sure but I heard that Mackinaws can have around 35K Ore Hold if you have the right skills.

I dont have a Mackinaw around and right now getting one is an absolute pain, they are even more expensive than the hulks lol!!!! That probably tells you that AFK mining is the way to go around eve...

If you fit them correctly, you can mine a lot of Ore without paying too much attention to your computer and at the same time you can have a decent defense, not as good as the one in the Procurer or Skiff, but is decent enough to hold a noob ganker...

Covetors and Hulks are the backbone of the mining fleet, they have the highest mining yield per cycle but a limited 'Ore Hold'... Very limited if you ask me!!!!!!! So if you dont have an Orca and 5 Hulk friends, my recommendation is to land your hulk into your favorite station and get the Mackinaw or the Retriever...

In conclusion... Get into EVE and do some mining!!!! Is not exactly mind blowing or super fun but at least is more interesting now because we got some new changes lol!!!!
