The holy Trinity... Also known as the "Unholy" Trinity is probably the most common thing that we see in mmos. We have the tanks, the DPSers and the friggin healers... A few developers take this a bit further by adding the so call support class but sometimes I wonder what the hell support is suppose to mean!!!???

So here is what I manage to dig up...

Support is...

Someone that doesn't do damage, dont heal and is not a tank! lol!! I know that it sounds dumb but that is the friggin true, if you are able to heal, do damage or tank, then you are not a friggin support class you are something else. The problem is that sometimes you dont do any of those things so you are really support but as I said before, what the norse are you suppose to do???

Buff your team so the DPSers do more damage???  Help the healers by providing extra healing boosts??? Isnt just better if you simply do the damage yourself or heal by yourself???

I am a bit skeptical with the support roles... Here are a few of my own personal reasons... ok... 

1. Every time I heard the word support, all I see is someone calling someone else a "weak jack of all-trades" (pun in weak)... Sometimes they just borrow certain stuff from other classes but in the end they are master of nothing...

2. Its hard to get any tangible benefit at all... Oh I got a buffz, but isnt just better if you do the damage yourself or heal the tank directly instead of increasing his armor... After all he is a good tank, we dont need that extra armor on the tank at all!!!!

3. OMG!!! I am healing support... I am supporting with heals!!! Wait a minute??? You are not support then, you are just a healer... a bad one if you are not able to keep the team alive by yourself... Again... Whats the point of support if all you are going to do is heal in a very bad manner!!!

4. Support characters are suppose to drain some energy out of the enemy... Eh... Isnt just better just to kill them all in the first place?

5. DOTs! More DOTs!!! I understand that DOTing is important but if they do damage, then you are doing damage like a DPSer...

I know that some other people have more reasons than me and they probably hate supporters more than me... After all I dont really mind if someone wants to feel like a babysitter and rollplay a Support class in the game... I dont really mind them, the only thing is that the role seems a bit unnecessary at the moment because it really lacks some substantial meaning and the usefulness of any kind of support class in some games is a bit dubious...
