This is a video of Amira, from Curse.com, playing an elementalist and showing us the real gameplay behind the land and water combat system.
Amira tells us that, “It was more fun than I can really explain xD." I'll have to reply to Amira with an even bigger and happier "xD". XDD.
There are a couple things to note in this video, and for those who have not been up to date with Guild Wars 2, I'll list them below:
-It seems like you can discover traits through combat. During the video, the elementalist discovered "Air Expertise" and "Improved Fire Blast" by simply killing monsters. Traits are passives that improve and even change your character's normal skills.
-You may notice that the mana orb barely ever lowers during spellcasting. That is normal, because the only time you will be losing mana is when your character is constantly using the rolling dodge move.
-The spell that creates an energy shield around the elementalist is presumably called "Energy Shield", and reduces all damage by 50% for 6 seconds.
-As you lose life, the edges of the screen start to turn crimson, like some of those FPS shooter games.
-No pushbacks on the casting bar when getting damaged, thank goodness.
-Notice the elementalist's healing skill. Every class will have a self healing skill for solo-ability.
-You can move while casting spells. (Woot!)
-Notice how spell visual effects and animations change when submerged. The fire spells caused the water to boil. Pretty darn cool.
-Play this video at max resolution, and it will seem like your playing the game. (Potential prank)
Ok, that's all. If you see anything cool, feel free to comment! Here's the video:
