Aion 2.7 is finally adding some feature me and im sure many others have been dying for day one. The sad part is it's still very basic. I mean I wish they added more gamemodes such as even the most commond ones such as variations of capture the flag, cap one of several control points to have your team be the first one to reach the max points, defend the vip/hero mode granting special abilities such as in warhawk, plant the bomb, dota or mobo, or as always their own unique game mode. But above all team based play. Deathmatch is by far the most nonintellectual and unsocial game mode ever.
They're adding in pvp arenas other then dregion. These new arenas are alot smaller and are mainly focused on solo pvp against 1- like 10 people. Not entirely sure what the cooldown timers are but i think the training camp has no cooldown. The main thing is I would love to pvp for several hours on end but running in the normal type of world like abyss to get one kill in like an hour just isn't worth it not only to be ganked by a much overgeared hardcore pvper or by a group of people. Once you reach about 150k it becomes practically impossible to gain any amount of ap in open world pvp. Not only that some of the items that you can buy with ap cost a hell of alot to the point where people mathemetically claim to have figured it would take a full year gaming every day to be able to buy them to only get a new set that cost more way before you could ever afford it. I mean with the high prices on things I see no reason to limit the amount of times people want to do instances it's still going to be very hard and an accomplishment to get something better then average. The new coin type of quest on the other hand seem to gimp practically every other method of getting items other then sheer luck from the RNG gods.
2.6 is adding a feature I thought of last time before I quit. I mean they could easily eliminate RNG with out having to severly change the game by adding in like a treasure chest that you open once you obtain a gold item. After opening it will determine what class you are and spit out an item that you could actually use. Or I guess they could just get rid of different types of items that either have the right stats and reduce the amount of armor you passively have to "keep balanced classes" or transform to match your class once binded.
What sucks though is I think it's still only for a limited amount of instances, Fire temple and Steel rake. Steel rake does have a cast speed orb which is nice but im sure to most these items could probably be obtained elsewhere much easier. For example the new daily coin quest. Which I might add is probably one of the best new features added to Aion. It really helps to promote people to be alot more friendler and willing to help out. Generally I think I seem to find people alot more willing to help out and be friendly after spending a brief time completing a generally very easy quest.
