Persona 5 had an hour long stream during E3 2016 and we had a chance to learn some more details and watch some actual gameplay.
The new Persona is set in Tokyo, the city is far more crowded and bigger than the city of the previous game. There are many more activities to take part in and many new places to explore. The main character will be able to work in part-time jobs in order to make money and buy gear for his adventures.
Like the previous game the fights will take place in dungeons, the system that you can attack a roaming demon in order to get a surprise attack on first turn is still there. The combat is of course turn-based and you can have four characters in your party. Magic-type attacks will be cast by your Personas and each one has a different set of skills. Enemy, just like your characters, have a weakness in a specific type of magic, if you hit them with the right type they will become stunned, if you manage to stun all the enemies your party members will be able to perform a chain attack that will deal massive damage.
Persona 5 will launch in North America on February 14, 2017 for PS4 and PS3.
