Hello Tank Ace Efficianados,
So apparently I need to reintroduce myself here. For those of you who have ever been to the Tank Ace website you likely know who I am. GM Rico, formerly Patton, I am spread like a fine cheese across Cue Online, Manga Fighter, and of course Tank Ace. My job is fairly straight forward, I play with players, I address player concerns and bugs to the development team, and I fill my work table with adorable stuffed animals and militant penguins. You know, the norm.
What is Tank Ace?
That's a fairly existential question, what is anything? Meaning is an autonomous being that exists uniquely for each of us, a ball of clay that evolves as we age. But I'm sure you meant something a little less eccentric. Tank Ace is a Tank centered online multi viewed and multi playered shooting game. So yes, simple.
What Tanks can I use?
The ideal goal is to implement a new tank every month for the entire lifespan of tank ace. You might be asking yourself, a new tank a month, how on earth will you ever be able to make that many? Well there are at least three HUNDRED and Thirty Five different types of Tanks that participiated in WWII. That's 27.9 years worth of tank updates! :)
For now however the tanks that will be available right out of the gates are as follows:
USA (AKA Allied Powers):
Russia (AKA Soviet Union):
T-34/76 Mod 1943
Germany (AKA Axis Powers):
Panzer III J/1
Panzer IV F/2
Panzer IV J(S)
Do I get bullets? I like to shoot things!
Of course! That's something many people like to do, it is kind of our modern day passtime. There are plenty of bullets in the Tank Ace world. To keep it short and sweet we have ballistic shells, whose damage is strongly dependent by the distance between the tank and its target, high explosive shells which hurt from any distance (because they explode), and we have artillery and air strikes to help thin out the herds of tanks that are giving you grief. These are just out the door and the armory will be expanded as various parts of WWII tank combat are injected into the game.
What is the goal of Tank Ace?
Realism. While there will never be an instance of entertainment losing out, the strong desire of Tank Ace is to provide a realistic tank combat experience that everyone can enjoy. There may be prettier alternatives but they do not share the same goal. We believe we have achieved this already as our community with the first CBT was absolutely fantastic.
When does Tank Ace return for CBT2?
Fantastic question! We are planning the CBT2 to begin at the end of March beginning of April. We will do stress testing with 100 players and if it goes well we'll hop right into Open Beta and then Commercial Service!
What if I have more questions?
Ask them, I'll answer them as they come in both here and at http://tankace.gamescampus.com!
