MY ANALYSIS ON ETHER SAGA
Well, first of all, I wanna say that this is MY OPINION, so anyone is allowed not to
agree, but still have to respect anothers opinion.
I've played PW for almost an year and since Ether Saga is developed by the same company,
I'll try my best not to make comparisons.
Enough cheap talking, let's go for it!
BEGINNING
The first steps on Ether Saga are great. A very good and easy to follow tutorial should
take you through the first 10 levels with no pain at all. So even if you are not used to
the interface or the game system, you won't have much trouble playing around.
GRAPHICS
Some might say a little childish... yes, I think so too. Good anime-like graphics, wich I
particulary like, but if you put graphics in the first place when looking for a game ande
you like something more real, or more mature liek Rohan, for instance, this might not be a
good choice for a game. Althou if you like cute chars/monsters or you doesn't care for how
they look like, you just wanna have some fun, then you might think of playing it.
GAME FEATURES
AUTO-PATHING
Hallowed be the one who invented this feature and implemented on RPGs! This is quite a
blessin from the gods. You just click and go get your quest, you dont need to search for
the monster. Its just perfect.
FLYING
At level 10 you can get a cloud wich is your flying equipment. You fly just like Goku on
Dragon Ball. It's good to fly since early in the game, helps a lot especially with the
auto-pathing system.
PETS
Every race starts with one pet and at level 15, you learn how to capture others! Girls love
cuty pets, and you can fuse with them to share the damage and/or summon one of them to
fight at your side. You can have up to 2 diferents pets supporting you at a time.
QUESTS
Well, this is something that didn't pleased me: the quest system.
Half of the quests doens't share and almost every quest doesn't stack. What does that mean?
you have to kill the same monsters over and over and over and over again, and it gets
anoying since the beginning. The fact that some quests doesn't share makes partying have no
reason. Since you are gonna share xp and drops, but not monsters kill.
The xp reward are very good. Nothing to complain. But they could add some itens or money in the reward, since xp is all you get
INSTANCES/RAIDS/DUNGEON
Well the first isntance is very short. You can finish it (lvl 20-25) with a lvl 22 party,
you just need a good healer and a tank whilling to use all his wine. The drops are good at
instances. I didn't do the second one, but I don't think it would be any longer.
CLANS
The clan system is a little different from what I'm used to. You can put 15 people on it,
and you have alliance. So probably there will be alliance war not clan ones, since clans
are very limited on numbers of players. This feature is not totally implemented yet.
PVP/PK
Not implemented yet. Don't know if there will have that system.
TREASURE SYSTEM
You gain treasure with quests and it works as gold in some situations. i.e.: you can buy pots and imbue weapons with it, saving your money.
GAME ECONOMY
Well everything that drops sells for 1 bronze coin at the npc, and it only drops useless itens. But at level 20+ you get very often, a stone to exchange with someone of the opposite gender as you. And you get 1 gold and 25 silver if you exchange at the first hour. I think the amount changes over time. The quicker you exchage it, the more you earn.
Thats kinda balance the economy, but still this is the only way you actually make money. Farmimg for itens or xp is useless, since the xp from mobs are low too.
OVERALL
Well, there may be a lot of things I didn't talk about, but that you can check on playing. It is a very good game, indeed, wich offers a lot of fun. The staff seems really carefull with the players, always giving us information on foruns about what they are doing. So it is a game that I recomend.
My score for this game is: 8.0
There it goes, this is my first analysis. Hope to make more in the future.
