I've finally managed to get to try out the game to see what it's like, and damn I was suprised at how the combat works, the character creation I'm sure a lot of us have seen simply from youtube videos, the same with some actual gameplay footage, only problem with gameplay footage is just like with games such as League of Legends for example, if you're a person that has never actually played it them self, you won't think much of it and it will just look like some generic game where you simply spam skills.
So the character creation isn't anything special so to speak, in which I mean you can't really customize, just simply pick some pre-set appearances, they look good though so I'm not going to fuss over it, plus there is quite a lot of choices, also each race does have their own appearances so atleast that kind of gives it some variation.
The combat though is very unique from what I've experienced so far, In normal games as I've said, you just simply auto target a mob and start to use any random skills at times that deal damage to simply kill the mob faster, some games you're locked to the ground while attacking, or games such as WoW for e.g where you can move about whilst attacking in which you can do that in B&S, what makes the game unique though, is simply the ability to actually counter enemys basic attacks or skills by simply timing a skill specifically for countering depending on your class which will absorb their damage and can deal damage to them, if timed wrong then you simply won't have countered anything and instead just get slapped for it, also adding onto the fact that in given situations you can actually do grapple style moves on your enemys to deal damage, I havn't got to far in the game yet but this is just the bits of what I know thus far.
Another thing that I havn't really seen in any game so far is normally when you lose all your HP, you simply die and either return to town or get resurected by some healer, on this game, you have what I could only call "A crawl to survival".
You have a timer with a bar going down as seen on the picture with 78.5 seconds to get your self to a safe location away from any agro enemys and then hit the number 1 key on your keyboard to start a meditation process which takes about half a minute to complete, I'm not sure if you lose exp or not when you lose all your hp and/or meditate anyway as I didn't check, either way if you don't do the meditation, you will end up reviving in the neariest city/outpost or you can just hit the number 4 key to revive at a city/outpost if you can't be bothered to try meditate, or you know you won't be able to get to a safe spot, I should also mention that when the meditation is finished, you end up with about 70% of your life bar back.
So after my small amount of time playing it, I must say it's very enjoyable, personally I wasn't to bothered about playing the game when it releases as I've been looking forward to other up-coming games, but after actually getting a good try with the game so far, i think my personall thoughts and opinions on the game have highly changed and I definitelly look forward to what kind of content this game offers later on.
