So, I have officially tried the C9 open beta... Loved the first 7 hours of game play, then it all went down hill. I was having so much fun running dungeons, getting gear, and loading up my Hunter with everything I could find, but then, the game went sour on me. The game went sour for me, but it might not for someone else, and if that is the case, I'm glad you found a game you enjoy.

The 5 reasons I have, I may get bashed for, but if you are an avid MMO player like I am, you'll know what I am talking about. I realize this is open beta, and I am just pointing out a few "flaws" that I think the game has, or rather I think is extremely ridiculous.

1. ECONOMY!

Economy is EVERYTHING I look for in a game, and when you have starter weapons level 10-15 that range from 7,000 - 21,000 gold (vendor trash weapons I might add) there is something not right there. Now, I have heard from higher level players (level cap is 50) 30-50, they all say that money is easier to get at higher levels.. That's all fine and good, but what about the noobs? Are we not entitled to an awesome start in the game, rather than finding out 7 hours in that everything costs more than a castle in Ireland?? I like the way the economy is setup, but there are some issues I have with extremely expensive weapons, crafting mats, and etc.

2. Game Play

The game play overall is fun, unique. I come from a MMO past where it was target, cast spell, and wait for obliteration, so the game play in C9 is a breath of fresh air. I enjoyed Vindictus too, but it became boring after lagging incessantly (I have 36 mbps here at my home, I'm not the one lagging behind). Their servers are a little lagged out, but nothing that a little elbow grease and a server switch won't fix.

3. Quests

Quests in this game are NOT painstaking. They are very easily accomplished. You run in to your dungeon, kill, leave, turn in. Simple as that. I like quests like that, but I like quests with some CRAZINESS added (maybe I'm just weird). But as I said, I hit level 15 last night then I was done. I'm sorry to all you high level players out there, but If I can't be drawn into a game after the first 7 hours, there is something terribly wrong. But in conclusion the quests/dungeons were not half bad, I rather enjoyed them.

4. Guilds

Guilds are a symbol of who you are in the game. Guilds shouldn't just be there to be there. Everyone wants to be apart of something in a MMORPG. But this game has a TON of non-active guilds. I literally got in game, had 5 invites to 5 different guilds, and left them all, cause either everyone was foreign, no one was active within the guild, or they just wanted you to carry their name. Yes I know, I could just as easily start a guild, but I was level 15 noob with no knowledge of the game, and everyone "seemed" to be doing their own thing, which is cool. In conclusion, if you play C9, find some people you enjoy playing with, or work on meeting people cause otherwise, you are just another label for a guild in C9.

5. Crafting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF...... Okay, let me throw it to you this way... You go spend 50,000 on mats, then you go to the crafting trainer (for me it was Tailor) and you learn that profession. You go over to your workstation, start making mats, leave, go to the Equipment Crafting Station, and come to find out... Level 15 gear costs YOUR MATS you just bought, THEN 5,000 gold for each piece of gear you craft.... YEAH.. No thank you. You should NOT have to pay to make your armor, especially when you just farmed or bought your mats (I did both). That is RIDICULOUS! For all you BIG crafters out there like me, I can only imagine how pissed you are about this, or going to be. C9 is fun, different in some ways, and player base is nuts, but pay to make your armor??? WTF is that?

Okay, so that is my 5 reasons I have an issue (or somewhat of one) with C9. It just needs a little work, not a bad game, and I'm not bashing it, I'm just giving my opinion. I personally will be awaiting my pre-order of Guild Wars 2, and hope to meet some awesome people there (if you would like to be level buddies, or even start a guild, hit me up with a message! I'm always down to go smash and burn stuff with friends).
