Well Electronic Arts and Black Box have done it again, today releasing a new car to their growing "Elite" line with a cash value of over $100 USD. The new car is now the 4th "Elite" vehicle released into Need For Speed World Online free to play game since December 2011.

The first of which made headlines was the Koenigsegg CCX "Elite" Edition priced at the same 25,000 SB (SpeedBoost) price. This car was not purchased by many players until EA suddenly dropped the prices to buy SB with cash. The car itself is okay to drive, but not very competitive against its tier 3 class. Today you can find that car still at 25,000 SB:

The second car is different for sure, as it was the first dragster designed "Elite" car. This is the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 "Elite" edition. Release at 12,500 SB the car only costs $50 USD to purchase in the game. Slightly more affordable this car was picked up by a lot of players as the SB sale was still in full swing at the time. It is a nice looking design, but useless in any sort of racing currently held within NFSW, particularly in its tier 2 class. Today the car is still valued at 12,500 SP:

The third car to enter into this category is was the Mitsubishi Eclispe GS-T "Elite". Released for 8,500 SB you still need to pay $50 to have enough SB for purchase of this car. The most affordable so far, and the fastest of all the "Elite" cars this was the car to get. It turned out to be an unstoppable car in the game. With stock parts this car with a good driver could challenge and win against most any other car in its tier 1 class, or even the game itself.

In addition the car featured the very first Subwoofer with a sound loop that can be activated by pushing "K" on the keyboard. Today the car can still be purchased for 8,500 SB and is the only "Elite" car worth purchasing.

Now we come to the newest car to be released as "Elite" in Need For Speed World. This is the Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR "Elite" Cop Edition. Okay first it costs 25,000 SB, making it the second $100 plus car in the game. The car does look real nice and has the first ever light bar on top of the car, which does light up with the push of the "L" key. How does is drive, well I cannot tell you since I will not put out that kind of money for a virtual car.

Need For Speed World started as a free to play game, being released in July 2010 to the public, but has since moved into the realm of free to pay and pay to win as most who play the game quickly come to the reality that in order to be competitive you will need to spend real money for the newest cars and the best performance parts. The fun of the game is there but only if you can find some great people in outside fan-based communities to hang around and and enjoy what the game was designed to be like.

Playing on your own can be frustrating these day and not what it was like in the beginning, since in April 2012 Electronic Arts removed the free-roam chat abilities, due to a hacker consistently causing havoc, and have not set a return date for the one main feature which allows you to talk and meet new players worldwide.
