That is correct, the folks over at GRO have just announced early access to the soon to be Open Beta Ghost Recon Online. This access is for anyone who has participated in the prior Closed Beta phases of the game. For US players here is the link to the new website:

The Firefall team made a big announcement the other day that there are now over 500,000 registered members for the beta game alone. The next update to FireFall will be the biggest push out to date as they are finally going to be releasing the highly anticipated new core gameplay mechanics. I'm back! I know its been a few days since my last post on GRO and I promised I would be doin a beta key giveaway and I will do it this time.

I want to go over a few things first with the game since the new update came out on June 26th. Officially at this point there has not been a post specifically stating what has changed, but unofficially I can tell you server lag has become much better for me as well as MatchMaking seems to have improved. Since Tuesday's patch I have noticed that almost all the matches have started with a full set of players on both sides, which is a great improvment. Player levels seems to be better in balance most of the time, even though I may find myself the only high level on my team, usually I will see a higher level or 2 on the other team no for balance. Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Online went live into beta phase 3 on Monday June 18th, and like many others I have been waiting over a month to get back to this very fun and addictive game. I have very picky tastes when it comes to F2P shooters as for me most seem to disappoint fairly quickly. GRO as it is known by many is one of the few exceptions in the F2P shooter market.

I am here to compare the changes from Closed Beta 2 with the new Closed Beta 3, and I am going to talk about the good, the bad, and where I believe improvement is needed. I have been involved in this game since the day CB1 went live back in March and to date there have been significant improvements and a couple set backed from changes made.

Anti-cheat system:

With this beta phase Ubisoft’s team has added anti-cheat to the game.

Today Ubisoft graced us with the new updates that have been made to GRO. I will try to go through everthing here and let you know my thoughts on some of this here. The developers over at NFSW have just announced a big community event this weekend. Starting on June 15th the entire NFSW community needs to run at least 700,000 Team Escape challenges, and if successful we will all receive a free game code for a prize.

Here are the details as posted on the Need For Speed pages:

When does the Team Escape Challenge begin / end (challenge period)?
Starts: 9:00am PDT Friday, June 15th
Ends: 11:50pm PDT, Sunday, June 17th

Ubisoft announced today that the Closed Beta 3 phase of Ghost Recon Online will go live starting June 18th. At this point no details have been released for what specific changes to expect in the new closed beta, but based on what information is available there should be some updates to the matchmaking system, classes, and weapons.

I also know that some players have been contacted by email directly regarding testing the Ghost Coins system, but I have not heard any further detail regarding this at this point. Ghost Coins will be what GRO uses as the real cash transactions in the game. As of this point every item included has been posted as available for IGC or Ghost Coins, but has been level locked. Red 5 Studios released a great video today that explains all about how the FireFall SIN (Shared Intelligence Network) actually works and how important it is to your enhanced game play.

The Red 5 team is doing a great job at listening to what the player base is asking and even in its beta phase it is clearly noticeable how much effort is being put into bringing out what will be one of the best MMO's to the market. This is a very team based game in PVE mode and my experience has been fantastic in terms of being able to quickly find a group of players to help you complete your missions.
