The Necromancer Tomb dungeon is for players level 41 and up. The trash mobs are pretty easy to handle, as they come in small groups. It is worth noting, however, that the large groups of imps are somewhat tough to keep threat on (for the tank). These often run after random players, regardless as to if they have even attacked or not. While this isn't much of a problem, it's worth keeping in mind so blame isn't tossed around where it shouldn't be.
As for the bosses, we'll be using the following map to show the order in which we'll look at them:
1 – Trayzadius
The first thing you'll notice when you enter the room Trayzadius is in is that there are spike strips all along the ground. If you're not familiar with these, they will do damage (in this case a lot of damage) if you are hit by them. It's important, therefore, to ensure that you keep up with skills, especially those that move you backward or forward upon usage.
For this room, the best area is the “back” of the room, although it's really the left side (marked on the map). While along this wall, players need to watch out for cleaves, though healing through them is usually not a problem. Much like the imps within the dungeon, this boss does sometimes choose a random target to attack (some attribute this to being “reset agro,” although it's hard to tell if it's an intended mechanic). The boss will also sometimes run to the middle of the room, and you're free to chase him but be careful as he can do knockbacks, potentially pushing you into spikes!
2 – Dalmanak
With the fight against Dalmanak, it is mostly just a “tank-and-spank,” although there are a couple of things to look out for. First of all, he will occasionally spawn minions. When these spawn, it's important to kill them as soon as possible. Along with this, he will randomly burrow himself underground, moving across the room to pop back out. Aside from these two mechanics, this battle is extremely easy!
3 – Mutated Kaidun
Much like the battle against Dalmanak, this one is mostly a tank-and-spank. Kaidun will sometimes use a buff on himself that increases his health, but this can be eridicated by a Mystic. Other than this, he will from time to time throw bubbling poison on to the ground. This must be evaded at all costs, and this also includes the tank. As for melee players during this fight, the boss will use AoE's with his shield, all at point-blank range (so ranged players should have no trouble).
4 – Vedilith
For the final battle in Necromancer Tomb, you take on the boss Vedilith. Much like you'd expect, this battle is harder than the previous ones within the dungeon, however it's still quite easy. During this fight there are multiple ways it can be completed, all using a similar strategy. But first let us look at why we need to use strategy on this fight.
Vedilith does AoE's and jumps around a lot, but his main thing to watch out for is minion spawns. At 70%, 50% and 30% of health, he will be spawning wraiths around the room. These are the AoE types found in this dungeon, as well as others, and they can do quite a bit of damage. The first spawn is around the outside of the room, the second is closer to the middle and the final one is even closer to it. Now we'll look at some strategies:
“Back Wall”
This method is to choose a wall (it doesn't necessarily have to be the back one, and kill all of the wraiths that spawn there during phases 1 and 2. This opens up a somewhat large area to kill the boss in. The main downside to this is that a lot of time is spent on the minions instead of the boss himself, which slows down the battle by a bit.
“Corners”
This method involves picking a corner (usually the back left or right) and clearing the wraiths from it during phases 1 and 2. While there are less kills with this strategy, there is also less room for movement. As a result, more healing will be needed when doing this.
“Skip 'em”
The final way of handling these wraiths is to simply skip over them. This is also, as you might guess, the most dangerous method of taking down the boss, as much more damage will be taken. If this is the path your group is taking, it's important that during all three stages you all group near the middle. While we call this the “skip 'em” method, it is very beneficial to kill any wraiths that are directly in your way (such as group 3, which spawns near the middle). This should allow for killing a few of them somewhat quickly and then moving right back on to the boss. While the wraiths are up, however, a lot of damage will be taken and care will be needed to ensure you don't get killed.
For a lot of groups, the skipping method is the most preferred. While this is tougher, and does require that everyone pay close attention to the boss, it significantly speeds up the kill, saving a lot of time. Regardless of the plan chosen, it's important to discuss it with your group beforehand. If everyone thinks a different method is being used, it creates a lot of complication between players and can turn the battle into a wipe.
