Continent Of The Ninth also known as C9 (KR & JP) or C9 Seal (EU & NA) is an action mmorpg developed by NHN Corporation and published by WEBZEN (EU&NA) and HANGAME (KR & JP). NHN merged with Webzen a South Korea game company established on April 2000, the same company behind MU Online, Soul Of The Ultimate Nation, Battle Territory. On july 7 2010, NHN Corporation dissolved with the merger leaving the publishing rights to Webzen who published Continent Of The Ninth under a new name Continent Of The Ninth Seal.

Caracter Creation And Class

As you log on into the game, each player is allowed to chose a character class and customize the apparence of their character although the genders are predetermined by the class you chose:

Fighter (Male)

Fighter is a close-fight type of career, their can equip various weapons and shields. As for their attack skills, they can dash with their shields and attack with their weapons. Three branches of fighter at the final class transfer are respectively: Warrior, Blade Master and Guardian.

Hunter (Male)

Hunter is a career who is good at long-range attack. Their weapons are dagger weapon and bow. In the close fight, they always use dagger to attack their opponents quickly and continuously, and in the long-range battle, they use the bow to fire the enemy. Three branches of hunter at the final class transfer are respectively: Assassin, Ranger and Scout.

Shaman (Female)

Shaman resembles the priest in the other games, but the difference is that C9 shanma can not only use magic to attack, but also they have a magic wand, which can also be their weapons to attack enemy. After they reach 25 level, there are three branches: Illusionist, Elementalist and Taoist.

Witch Blade (Female)

Witchblade, the fourth class of C9, is a charming female Witchblade with tempting curve and distance in her eyes. She not only has powerful energy using her ice-cold and sexy charm to overwhelm the enemies, but also excellent battle effectiveness using both magic and sword. Different from the other classes a Witch Blade has four branches: Warden, Slayer, Blade Dancer, Nightstalker.

Once you chose a character class you can go to the customatization window and edit your characters hair, face, face style, skin color, hair color, body height, etc. The game has a fair amount of custumatization options although sometimes other players end up looking just like you but from my point of view its nothing to spoil the fun of the game.

Gameplay, Graphics, Game Style

C9 is a dungeon crawler/instanced game but don’t be fooled by the term ,,dungeon crawler’’ because continenth of the ninth has immense dungeons and maps with secret levels and lots of layers for you and your party to have space. As most Mmorpgs C9 has a starting town filled with crasftmen and trainers and sellers to accommodate your stay there. The atmosphere of the starting town is that of a pirate town filled with life and adventure, you can see ships, cabans and tons of vegetation and water surrounding the town. The storyline of C9 is actually great and its presented from cutscenes and sometimes dialog text although im not going to get into the storyline so not to spoil the game’s story. The graphics are amazing from the lush vegetation of the Goblin Forests to the Imp Forest and the gloomy dark caves of the Imp Infested Mines. When you progress in the game other continets will be unlocked. Some dungeons can be finished solo other with help either way C9’s party system allows you to find a party for dungeon you require. Combat is one of C9’s strong points the term ,,Unriveld Action’’ is not just for show, the combat animation, spell animations and caracter movement are absolutely stunning and very enjoyable, slashing waves of enemy over a huge terrain is immensely entertaining. The skill system is simple, you get sp points from dungeons and quests and purchase passive and active skills form class trainer.

The Crafting system includes Metalworking,Woodworking,Alchemy,Tailoring and Chef and you can chose only one proffesion, after chosing the proffesion you can level it further at lvl 10 and lvl 25. One of C9’s interesting systems is the Intrusion system wich allows a player or a party to intrude on other players dungeons Players must visit an intrusion master in any of the town and pay a small fee to random or target intrude. You can only intrude randomly intrude the same person on their run 2 times, despite the number of successful kills or time running out (targeting the same person can only be done 2 times per day) You can intrude solo or with a party (max of 4) Random intruding will give you blood tokens on successful intrudes, but opponents can see your information Target intruding does not give you blood tokens, even on successful kills, but opponents cannot see your information. Being the intruder Stamina is not consumed 5min to kill all player opponents in the stage Enchantments only give 70% bonus instead of 100% Fury mode and consumables are disabled Intruders can intrude while your intruding someone else and can attempt to kill you and the defenders 20 Guild points are earned per kill Blood tokens drop on successful kills (random intruding only) Titles can be earned for successful kills Cannot resurrect if dead.Restrictions are removed if all players are successfully killed and cannot resurrect.
