I was at last able to get my hands on my Cataclysmic weapon (behave) and I am now looking forward to inflicting damage on my numerous foes :-) It’s just a pity so many of my battle ground allies seem so like enemies.
For some reason, and it does not matter how nicely or diplomatically you write, people do not want to discuss what tactics to use at the start of the game. And that is a recipe for defeat. I have lost count of how many games have been lost simply because players have run around aimlessly attacking the enemy in the middle of nowhere. Guys and gals you have to have a game plan and you need to stick to it. If someone suggests a tactic listen and contribute intelligently, instead of acting like a moron and making some inane comment like “who made you the boss”. Someone has to start the ball rolling and coming out with arrogant unhelpful abuse is simply mindless.
If you decide, for example, to split into groups with different priorities it is pointless for healers to be all in one group and tanks in another, for what should be obvious reasons. It is also usually clear that it makes sense to kill the opposition healers first. Silence, stun, whatever the buggers first and them kill them quickly. And that applies in 2v2 Arena battles where you don’t want your healer telling you that your damage alone will not kill their healer and that we should have killed the Rogue first, especially when you had agreed to kill any healer before the battleground commenced. Of course you have to be aware of what’s happening to your partner and that a Rogue will be problematic to your Priest healer. We actually won the match up, but that was because the others quit because it was a stalemate. Ironically I had inflicted the most damage out of the four players and with a bit of damage from the Priest we would have ended the game earlier.
If you are in a flag game it seems to make perfect sense that there are two flag bearers to target and that after the initial sortie to collect the first flag you split into two groups. Yes? One to defend and one to attack the appropriate flag bearers. A lot of the action will therefore take place in the bases and not with some aimless battle in the middle with a flag nowhere in sight. If you die get back into your group as quickly as possible and do not fight alone.
Remember it’s teamwork that earns wins and bigger Honor Points and that it matters not a jot how much damage you inflicted if at the end of it all the opposition won. If you don’t believe me look at the scores next time you play and see how the HP has been distributed. Frequently the heavier damage inflicted by certain players does not reflect in the HP awarded.
