Time and time again I am caught between multiple shooting games that change the overall controls. To make it worse some games do not give the option of changing some of the buttons to fit with your style. For example in PS3, in Call of Duty the aim button is on the top left L1 button, but in Killzone 2/3 the aiming button is located on R3 which is on the right analog. Why can't we have the same controls or the option to change the controls to suit our style? Also, I know games are trying to be unique but why did the developers lock the controls?
This is getting frustrating ruining the natural order of gaming. The natural order being gamer's knowing where the sprint, shoot, crouch, and reload is located on the gaming pad. Even then some games change the button configuration to not only confuse us while playing, but to make us learn new controls every time we put the game into the console.
Every time I play a game I just pick it up and go, but sometimes the game slows me down because the controls are not suited for my gaming style. In Call of Duty and Battle Field, players can change games anytime they want without the hassle of learning new controls. The controls are already implemented in our mind and it makes it easier to play each game. In relation to nostalgia lane, imagine this, you know how the controls are for the mario games on the SNES? The developers used the same button to jump, run, interact and move for every single game. But can you imagine a game so similar to mario with just different controls? Try playing both games one after another and you will feel this frustration that I felt playing different games.

Well this is my frustration so far in playing console games. To make it worse some games change the shooting button to the button pad, even though the controller trigger pad was ALWAYS used for shooting. In summary, do not change the buttons configuration but if you do give us the option to change the buttons so that it would suit our style of gaming. Thanks in advance developers.
