Maplestory is a MMO from the company Nexon. Nexon is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan yet most of the development and primary market takes place in South Korea thus making this a South Korean MMO.

What interesting is that it's leads itself with a Maple Leaf. The entire game starts on Victoria Island before the character enters Maple Island. I've been to Canada, most of it has alot of land like Greenlands, Ice and Woodlands. There's even an Ant Tunnel.

There's monsters like Mushrooms, Pigs with Red Ribbons and Yeti the Sandquash, which are mostly seen as Western influences.

So my question is why is Maplestory based on Canada? Does it help South Korean players not get out and explore the world in places such as... err Canada?
