Welcome to the wasteland.
Category: Default Game: Fallen Earth Posted on Apr 04, 2012 3:50 pm 276Views 0CommentsSo it's been about 5 months since I last entered the wasteland, and let me say what a good feeling I get logging back in. I'm not entirely sure why I hadn't played in so long. Oh well, now I'm back and having a blast. So unless this december a real apocalypse happens I don't see any reason why I wont still be playing this wonderful game for years to come.
For anyone who hasn't played Fallen Earth, I highly recommend it. Sandbox at it's core, FE offers a variety of gameplay for many different players. Anything from an extremely extensive crafting system, trade, missions, PVP, grinding, gathering, you name it FE has it. Rarely do I find a game that I can dive into, play for hours and not worry about how far I'm advancing, I'm just having fun. Best of all, it's free. You can download directly from the gamersfirst website or from Steam, either way don't be disappointed, the cash shop is very light on the very scrutinized "Pay to Win".
I've only been back a week so I don't have a lot to say today, I just felt the need to get on and try to inform anyone who hasn't tried Fallen Earth to definitely give it a shot. Gamersfirst has adopted a multi tier subscription system and the free to play only has a couple restrictions that are easily lifted. For starters, the free players are not allowed in the global chats (besides Help, of course), they have what I believe is a 20red chip limit (enough for most non rare purchases anyway). Other than that, all players have full access to the game and all zones/instances, and a limit of 2 character slots. These restrictions can be easily lifted by making even the smallest purchase in the cash shop, no subscription required.
Each subscription model above free to pay does offer some nice perks, but they are definitely not gamebreaking in any way. These plans will decrease your characters harvesting and crafting times plus provide more offline hours for crafting, the free model is 8 hours of offline crafting queue. If you are interested in reading more about the subsctiption models, the information can be found on http://www.gamersfirst.com/fallenearth/
Thats about all for now, if you've been looking for a sandbox game to help pass the time until Archeage arrives, I highly suggest Fallen Earth.
My in game name is The Maestro, feel free to send a tell or even get a clan invite :) Always looking for more people to hang out with!
I'll do some more writups on this game and others more often, for now I'll see you in the wasteland!
