After I wrote my last article about Three Kingdom Online, I realized that I have played several games based on this popular novel.  And I wonder which ThreeKingdom game titles that really attract my attention.

I don’t write all of this game down based on how acurate they are portraying Three Kingdoms era.  Although I have to admit that everytime I play game that based on this era, I will put a score on how they adapt the story compare to Lo Guan Zhong’s version of ThreeKingdom.

And subjectively, I have to admit that I don’t really like a game that featuring “too much deviated” fictional characters that use the same name as the hero from ThreeKingdom era.  That’s why you won’t see games that based on anime or manga such as Ikkitou

This game was just entering the commercial period in my country and I don’t think this is the same game as Heroes of Three Kingdom.  This game was originally entitled “Kingdom Heroes” in Taiwan.  And although this game is not the same as the upcoming Heroes of Three Kingdom, this game is using the same basis semi fictional history of 3 Kingdom era by Lo Guan Zhong.

The concept art of this game is amazing and they decorate some of the loading scene.  What makes me wondering is, although they use the “usual” portrait of 3 Kingdom for famous characters, they don’t use it in the in-game events.  Like the one I’m showing below, they don’t portray Guan Yu as a red skin tall person with beautiful beard like the “common

In my last article about Fun vs Reality, I concluded that reality is not everything in presenting game features.  The fun factor is what make a game famous.  That’s why eroge, or hentai games, are so successful.  They are not real, but they give what many people wanted, fun.  In fact, they give so much fun for some people that they start to deny reality, and want to marry the digital girls instead of seeking a real one.

My spouse was once playing The Sims while I was playing Tantra Online beside her.  After some hunting, I put my character, an Ashura at that time, at rest for some chakra, which make me have to wait.  And then I start to watch my spouse playing, directing her character here and there, putting some decorative stuff to her characters house, and so on.

I started to ask her, “So why do you like this game so much?”

That sentence make me think, all this long in my gaming life, I always admire a game that can present a realistic moment or interaction. 

On my previous articles about dragon fossils, we’ve known that the actual size is not as big as we imagine a dragon is.  And some people are even skeptical to my article about it.  Well, I am not the only one who cover this news in the internet, just search it, and there were couple blogs that already gave the same data as mine.  I’m just happened to cover it in MMOSite, because dragon is closely related to RPG games.

Most of the time, we always talk about bringing stand alone game to become online.  I even write some list about game titles that I wish the developer would bring them online.  But Gravity have reversed this by bringing their famous online game to stand alone one!

Meet Ragnarok DS (RDS).  An RPG for NDS, based on Ragnarok Online (RO).  One of my best friend suggest me to try the game because he knew that I love RO during its time.  And I have to thank him for this, because I am actually loving it.

Well, there is nothing new in this game whatsoever.  RDS is like typical any other stand alone RPG out there.  A storyline, characters to build, several classes.  In fact, it is based exactly like RO.  Graphics, job class, status allocation, skill, monsters, world, and even emoticons!  But that’s the reason why someone like me, would love this game.  It bring us memories about good old day when play
