Blizzard has been sending out e-mails to former subscribers and to players who never actually played the game but somehow got on the mailing list or have been invited by a "friend" they never heard of. A smell of desperation is in the air, although it has been reported that World of Warcraft stopped losing subscribers in the past few months.
Apparently, people who will decide to come back to World of Warcraft, will receive a free upgrade to Cataclysm and a character boosted to level 80.
