I've tried to make some general comparisons to see what all racing MMOs have in common and should have in common. I think Racing MMOs differ alot from MMORPG as the player has full control of vehicles. I strongly believe a stand should be meet and I'm going in a process where I'm trying to find this standard that I think future Driving MMOs should include them.
Warnings about taking the experience from the game into real life!!! Something I've noticed that all Driving MMOs clients should have and I found it interesting that almost all the MMOs have this... I did say ALMOST ALL!
Need for Speed is straightforward about this! "Take it to the race track if you want to race in the real world", printed on the bottom of the screen as you boot up the client!
Drift City (Skid Rush) does the same thing. The client boots up with this screen. I never would imagine anyone who would drift insanely ingame would try the same thing in the real life but I think it's really nice to have such a screen in the first place.
RayCity did the same thing (in this case, RayCitySEA) and were nice enough to include a similar message.
A matter of fact, I kept finding warnings though out the entire client, everything from the start up screen, loading screen and even printed on the bottom of the screen as I drive on the wrong side of the road during gameplay!
I discovered one Driving MMO that hasn't got it is Heat Online/Level R. As of Jan 2012 (anyone could read this and add the warning later on), this MMO wasn't too brother to put any warning telling me NOT to take the experience in real life.
For an MMO that being released for free to almost anyone who used the internet, I think one wrong person would mimic the experience from playing Heat Online/Level R. I look everywhere for it, from the loading screen, the log in screen and in game and there were no warnings!
