My main is a Level 90 Mage. I love soloing old content, even though some encounters cannot be soloed yet, I'm always soloing certain raid instances every week. One of them is, indisputably, Sunwell Plateau. Not only is it a nostalgic place, but it also drops gear with the best in-game models to-date. Of course I do these runs, maily for transmogs. Sometimes, I even sell transmog runs. It can earn you a nice amount of gold, if you have already completed your Tier 6.5 Set. As you might have already been aware, players were unable to solo the first boss in Sunwell, Kalecgos, because the encounter needed at least two people, otherwise it would reset. Now, even though you could simply skip Kalec and go straight to Brutallus, in 5.1, the encounter has been tuned in so that you c
Blizzard has today, ultimately revealed the release date of the upcoming World of Warcraft 5.3 Patch. The Patch will go live this Tuesday, 21st for US and a day after for Europe. They announced it on their official Twitter fanpage.
Here's an ultimate recap of the most important information about Patch 5.3. Clicking on one of the links below, will bring you to the dedicated article about 5.3 on MMOSite.
With 5.3 released, it is time to talk about 5.4. Blizzard has managed to release three patches within a year cycle. It's definitely good work!
According to the interview with Cory Stockton, Patch 5.4 will be released shortly on the Public Test Realms, once 5.3 goes live. The Patch 5.4 is the last cont...
With plenty of information about Patch 5.3 around, I haven't really seen any discussions about the release date yet. That's one of the reasons, why I'd like to share some thoughts on it. Let's begin with some math.
The release date of 5.0.4, which was also the first patch since the expansion launch, was released on 28th August, 2012.
The first patch of the expansion 5.1, was released on 27th November, 2012.
Now between the launch and patch 5.1, exactly 13 weeks (or 91 days) elapsed.
The latest patch that brought the Throne of Thunder raid, 5.2, was released on 5th March, 2013, even though the release was postponed by a week. Blizzard initially planned to release the patch on 26th February, 2013.
Between 5.1 and 5.2, 14 weeks (or 98 days) elapsed. As mentioned earlier, t...
Patch 5.3 adds new battle pets. You may have already seen some models in an earlier preview, but now it's the best time to look at them again, because it's already known, where you obtain them.
Please note that all pets are subject to change at any given time and some may not make it in the release and that Patch 5.3 is in its late testing phase.
Bad Robot - Finally, our Engineering fellows are getting some love! This pet will be craftable via the profession and the pet will be BoE, so you can buy it in the auction house. Blizzard was at first a bit skeptic about whether this pet will be added with 5.3, but there are really no reasons for them not to do so.
Valkier Pet - this pet is added to Icecrown zone in Northrend. You will be able to capture it with ease.
Blossoming Ancient - This pet will be added to the Blizzard Store and you will be able to purchase it. The price is yet to be determined. The awesome thing about the pet is that it changes colors with the four different seasons:...
Patch 5.3 adds a few new mounts. While sources of some remain yet to be discovered, we can now, more than safely, assume, where most of them come from. I am kind of disappointed that we are almost at the end of the expansion, yet there are still no mounts such as the egg from HM Ragnaros and/or HM Deathwing. It's more than sure that Blizzard will add such a mount in 5.4, but in Cataclysm we had more two mounts in the last two tiers of the expansion. Let's now have a look at the most interesting mounts in the upcoming patch. I've exported them for you so just click on the image to expand.
The Fairie Dragon Mount - this mount changes colors, a pity it shares animations with all the dragon mounts/npcs. The awesome thing is that it constantly changes colors ! It's more than safe
Many of you probably didn't know this, so I wanted to stress out the importance of this fact:
In the upcoming, third patch of the Pandaria, the raid instance Throne of Thunder, which was introduced back in Patch 5.2, will become cross-realmENABLED. This means, once you add the Real ID of your friend, you will be able to form a group and enter the instance regardless of what realms you play on. I won't go into details about Real ID, if you don't know what that is, please click here for the FAQ.
Many of you may ask, why would this be important? Well, maybe you don't have the time for a raiding schedule and/or the server pugs are very weak. It's a known fact that pugs on lower population servers are worse than those on highly populated ones.
There's an awesome website dedic
This week I'm struggling with a simple problem. I have hit the 3,000/3,000 Valor Cap. As my gear has an average itemlevel of 520s, I do not need to buy reputation Valor gear for ridiculous amounts of points, just to get a useless Sha Crystal which is currently, worth 230g on my server.
The other thing that immediately came to my mind was to buy some ilvl522 gear, from the Shado-Pan Assault Quartermaster. A friendly reminder, don't do it... well, unless you don't want to end up with louzy 1-2 Sha Crystals. I eventually thought, that by disenchanting, I would at least get a Haunting Spirit, so that I could spend some of my cap points and get them back this week, as well as earn some gold, but nah, you don't get the spirits by disenchanting.
The last alternative that came to...
As Patch 5.3 is in its final testing phase on PTR, Activision Blizzard has issued a press release, stating their subscriber loss.
In the first quarter of 2013, the amount of subscribers has dropped by 1.3 million. In Q4 2012, the base was at 9.6 million players.
Blizzard is expecting to lose even more subscribers at the end of the year. Even though World of Warcraft still remains the biggest MMORPG, Blizzard should swallow their pride and really do something before they destroy the piggy of their income.
What's the root of the problem?
I'm really asking, since I am not entirely certain about the answer. Of course, World of Warcraft had its peak during Burning Crusade till the start of Wrath. Even though Wrath had the best lore foundation to become the best expansion, it instead, st

Patch 5.2 will introduce a new PvP season along with a new raid tier. This means that all the higher tier currencies
(Valor Points, Conquest Points) will be converted to lower tier currencies (Justice Points, Honor Points) and/or gold.
Player vs. Environment Conversion (PVE)
I. Valor Points will be converted to Justice Points: Valor > Justice
II. Justice Points above the 4,000 cap will be converted at a rate of 47 silver per Justice Point
Example: You've got 450 Valor Points and 3,800/4,000 Justice Points. The remaining Valor Points will be converted to Justice Points until the cap (4,000) has been filled and the remaining Points above the cap will be converted to gold, in this case 117 gold, 50 silver.
The reputation requirement on old valor items will
