My Thoughts On An Elder Scrolls MMO

Alirght, so I'll admit it, I'm probably one of the very few gamers out there who absolutley hated all of the Elder Scrolls games. Hate me all you want but I didn't find them as fun as everyone else does apparently. But an Elder Scrolls MMO? Some people are for it and others are against it. I am actually for it because in an MMO it would probably be very different than in the games.

I'm also loving how the graphics are looking... Well that is except for the character models... What is up with the hands in all the screenshots? No person has hands that size!

That's really the only thing that bothers me about the look of the game. I mean, why would they design the mobs in Elder Scrolls Online to look so amazing, and then do such a piss poor job on the character models? They look so cartoony that it's ridiculous.

The mob graphics are impressive to my eyes though, and if they all look as cool as the ones in the images then I'd be one happy gamer.

The one thing I don't understand is how they are going to do it. The world that the Elder Scrolls took place in was in no way small. This may turn out to be the most massive world that an MMO has had to date. "From Skyrim to Morrowind and everything in between." That is no way a small statement. We are talking about one huge world here. Maybe I'm thinking to critically here and it will be scaled down for an online game (but I really hope not). If they did make the world as huge as the games than that would be pretty amazing.

I know a lot of people weren't happy with the news that the combat in the MMO wound't be the same as in the game, but I was. That was one of the big things that actually turned me off from the Elder Scrolls games. I never liked the comabt in the games, so I'm happy to see that it will be different for the MMO.

The thing that I'm really most excited for is probably the story. I love a game with a good story. And the Elder Scrolls series has always had an awesome story. Story in a game is extremely important to me and I'll admit I'm probably one of the few who reads all the quests (yes even those "kill x amount of mobs" quests). I can't help it! I just want to know everything I can to due with the story of the game I play.

It's obviously a little too early to get excited over this MMO, but I'm fairly hopeful that it will be a good one. I'm not going to claim that it will change the MMO field like so many other sites. For goodness sakes, the game isn't even slated for release until 2013 and sites such as MMORPG.com are already starting to try and hype the shit out of it. Calm yourselves down gaming news sites! I'm sure you haven't even been paid yet to start the hype, so there's no need to start early!
