With EverQuest's 18th expansion, Veil of Alaris, coming out on Tuesday, today we present to you the final teaser for the highly-anticipated release. The final trailer and teaser will take players briefly through the Pillars of Alra, a land of magic and mysticism.
Of course, "land" is used loosely -- Alra is, in fact, four separate floating islands, and each island is suspended in the air by magic and powered by magic. Players will have the opportunity to visit these four towers and check out a truly breathtaking zone where magic is king, where the god Alra rests in eternal slumber. There are four factions to visit while traveling Alra, and players can visit all four and marvel at the magic that each represents. Regardless of where gamers go, they are in for a treat as they visit the floating zone and its people.
Here's SOE's take on the Pillars of Alra:
In the Pillars of Alra, competing followers of the Alaran god of magic debate endlessly over the truest interpretation of the God's essence. Vast magical energies support floating towers in the sky, each dedicated to a particular style of magic. Will you be able to face the magical might of Alra's followers?
The Pillars of Alra may be the most anticipated zone in this entire expansion, purely based on how awesome it looks. No other zone in Veil of Alaris looks anything like the Pillars of Alra, and certainly this zone is the most awe-inspiring. The Pillars of Alra zone is so awesome that the best thing to do would be to shut up and show the video already. Game Designer Doug Cronkhite, Associate Game Designer Chris Black, and Environment Artist Alan Bond are in charge of this tour.
Take it away, boys!
