RunDLC Week of 04/11/2011
By: Mavlock posted at Apr 13, 2011 7:10 am

Welcome to another installment of RunDLC. Last week was weak people, so weak there was no reason to post an update. There was one shining gem, but it was so deeply encrusted in the weak releases of last week it took me another week just to chip it out of the surface. Last week's shining champion was actually a DSi Ware title, but that is only because there was nothing else new in the digital wasteland for us RPG'ers. So this week I'm starting off with the Nintendo Wii, enjoy it while it lasts.
Nintendo Wii
Anonymous Notes Chapter 1 — From the Abyss (DSi Ware) — A roleplaying game on DSiWare? These are strange days indeed, with this effort from Sonic Powered Co. promising infinitely rearranging dungeons, magic, monsters and more. We'll cast Journalistic Appraisal level 3 and see what happens.
Mavlocks Notes: It appears this may be set in the same universe as the From the Abyss game that was released on the DS, but I've yet to see true confirmation on this. Since my daughter has monopolized her DSi with Kingdom Hearts, I haven't been able to pry it from her sleeping hands at night to try the game.
X-Box 360
Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes - (Arcade) The award-winning Might & Magic Clash of Heroes is now on XBLA! Live the epic adventure of 5 young Heroes leading their armies to save the world of Might & Magic. Discover a unique mix of RPG and puzzle battle mechanics and experience brand new online and local battle modes for up to 4 players. – Enjoy a 20 hour campaign in the rich Might & Magic universe and learn devastating combos! – Master 10 Faction heroes and spells, 40 creatures with unique abilities and more than 50 artifacts. – Challenge your friends online or offline, in 1 vs 1 or in the brand new 2 vs 2 cooperative mode. – Grow from young hero to fully fledged champion in the exclusive online ranked battle modes.
Mavlock's Notes: Oh yes, hello old friend. Did you bring me something new? No, no I haven't played you on the DS. It's okay, I don't mind if you rehash old content for my HD television. I'll let you hang out with Simon Belmont, just don't piss off Alucard.
Playstation
Dungeon Hunter: Alliance — Join forces and drive back the darkness! Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is an epic quest set in a dark fantasy world, that you can revisit in intense multiplayer mode, local or online, with up to 4 players.
Mavlock's Notes: Looks like a fun way to waste time till Diablo 3 devours the action RPG market.
Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes — Clash of Heroes is a puzzle RPG in the Might and Magic franchise. Utilizing an innovative and dynamic combat system based on puzzle mechanics, players explore highly detailed maps full of knights, elves, wizards, necromancers and demons and interact with a unique hand-drawn environment. Scattered across five different regions of Ashan, 5 special heroes must travel their own dangerous paths to grow in strength, unravel a demonic plot, and ultimately save the world from Chaos.
Mavlock's Notes: Puzzle RPGs, oh you strange animals. I love your meaty corpses.
