Changes to come to Firefall

Before you ask, no I don't have any more keys to give out, when I do, I will make another post to give more of you guys a chance to grab one. Even if you just read what I write here, I do highly recommend watching the full video so you can get a better grasp of what is going on and hear it from what they say, not just what I write here. Moving on, the development team has been working on the game and trying to get feedback from the fans to figure out how they can make the game more fun, so much that they invited several players to come to the office to see what changes they have planned with the overall development of the game, and actually give them a chance to play head to head with some of the devs, which is pretty cool since I never really hear of companies going that far with their fans.
One of the bigger changes that players want, and that the team has heard, is to make the game more skill based. This in turn has made them take a really good look at the different aspects of the game from run speed to how the battler frames are set up and even the cool down of skills to see if each of these aspects are good enough and appropriate for making the game more skill based. This even includes scaling the leveling type system they had.
It was mentioned that the higher level you are the more easily you will be able to dominate, which is not the aim of the game, so they will most likely scale it to where it will be more about your skills, and less about your level. That alone I give a huge thumbs up to, nothing like getting dominated by some guy who has leaps of levels ahead of you to make you either disheartened in the game, or make you want to do the same thing to lowbies when you get higher level. How will they do that? Well, they're going to throw away the leveling system. The exp that you got from before will be used for unlocking tech to let you build up your characters and battleframes the way you want and really develop the character in a less static way.
They talk more about the whole removing the leveling by changing a bit more of the tier system of unlocking tech which has battle frames having a weight cap. If I understood them right, it seems like the higher level gear will take up more weight than lower tier gear. So it will make you plan out how you want to focus the direction of your skills and how you will bog down the character with equipment - either taking up a lot of weight with a higher level gun, or getting a couple mid range ones to give you a bit more balance. They also mention you will be able to get more power and weight on your battle frames which will give you even more flexibility later on.
All in all the changes look pretty cool and it seems like the game will be more about skill and exploring than just trying to also grind your levels. The development team seems pretty cool, and I wish them all the best, especially for this gem of a game that they're bringing to the f2p community. But again, with my ever growing curiosity, what do you guys think of the changes and direction they're taking the game in?
