Arctic Combat Beta Review

Webzen is taking another crack at the shooting genre with their new game, Artic Combat. Artic Combat is a shooter set in a future where the U.S.A and Russia are fighting against each other over resources, in what is shaping to be World War III.
Since the game is set in the U.S.A vs. Russian setting, there are two different looks for your character when you get him; in fact you can buy characters for each faction with their own unique look. The bad thing however is, you can’t customize the looking individually, each normal item you buy either share the same look, or alters it slightly. So if you equip a beret on your AF soldier, your RSA counterpart will have the similar look. It would have been nice to have a bit more flexibility in that department to at least give the player the a
Star Conflict hits Open Beta

Star Conflict, which is a new space themed MMO, has announced that it has hit Open Beta for all who want to participate. Also good news for those who are interested in these types of games, but never heard of this one, it will be free to play. The only bad thing about the announcement of that model is that they haven't said much on how the free to play will work, so it is an unknown at this point, they have said however that there won't be any limitations placed for those who go free, they just need to spend longer training their character .
The game is also PvP based, meaning that there is no PvE at all and works in a lobby based system which pits two teams against each other in a 16 vs.16 man fight.
As for features in the game, this is what they have release
...New Free Champion Rotation (Season Two: Week 35)

It is a new week Summoners, and yes, that means another week of champions for you to try out, and maybe do well, or maybe just fail badly at. So you guys already know the drill on this, I name champions I like, talk about some of them, then ask you to do the same.
So for this week the champions I like are; Annie, Fiddlesticks, Gangplank, Malphite, Nocturne, and Vayne. Why not Jayce or Lulu? I don't own either and haven't seen them enough/played them enough to have a good opinion on them yet. For this segment I will be talking about Annie and Malphite.
Annie is a fun mage to play, she is meant to be a bit tankier, at least if you want to survive thanks to items like RoAs and/or Rylais. She is also pretty good at doing a fairly substantial amount of damage by
New Free Champion Rotation (Season Two: Week 34)

I am a little late with the champion cap this week, and I apologize for that. I was busy working on a first impression that needed to be a bit rushed and turned in, so I was a bit late. But you know the drill new week for free champs, people suck with them, yadda yadda. Let's move on, shall we?
This week the champions I like are.....actually, all of them. A bit rare, yes, but I do like all of the champions this week. Which ones will I talk about? Soraka and Galio.
Soraka is actually my favorite support, mostly because of how she can support herself and help take out groups of enemies with her allies very easily. In a team fight, she can be annoying as heck spamming her Q for all to die. It is because of that that I have had double and triple kills early on in the game, since she
Fuel to the fire for anti-gamers
You all know about those groups that deem gaming a threat, an addiction, something that is more harmful than good/fun. They ignore the prospects of recreation from gaming and how it is also used for educational purposes, focusing on those games that are meant for adults but get in the hands of children by ignorant parents who have nobody to blame but themselves. Well, they just got some new fuel for the fire. According to an article at Gaming Blend, a Taiwanese man has died due to to a gaming session lasting 40 hours in Diablo 3, he ended up kicking the bucket and dying a short time after being rushed to the hospital. It also mentions another man who died during an intense match of League of Legends due to cardiac arrest. Yes, yes, these are sad times for them and their family, but it is in effect their own fault.
Now obviously I am a gamer, and I know how easy it is to get swept into the moment and lose track of time. Or some people just have trouble putting down th
...New Free Champion Rotation (Season Two: Week 33)

Yep, it is that time again for new champions to hit the free rotation week and for people who never used these champions before to "try them out for the first time" and screwing over their teammates.
If you read any of these posts I make, then you know the drill. I say which of the champions I like, then I talk a little about 1-2 of them, including on how -I- like to build them. Then I ask you guys what you think of this weeks line-up and how you build them yourselves. So out of this weeks line-up I like; Cho'Gath, Master Yi, Morgana, Sion, Kog'Maw, Miss Fortune, Renekton, and Ziggs. Now why not Heim and Amumu? Well Heim not so much since he tends to fall like a rock late game, even though his early game is fairly strong. As for Amumu, I like him, but I don't really like p
Phantasy Star Online 2 Heading West Early 2013

With the recent release of Phantasy Star Online 2 in Japan, Sega has already been talking about heading west with their new game, the date? Well, it isn't set in stone yet, but they're planning on an early 2013 release for the game to both the EU and NA regions. This is good news as it was speculated by fans that it would a) take several years to pass over or b) not come over at all. But since the release is scheduled only a year away, it means you won't have to wait too long for you to play and understand what is being said in game.
The game is for both the PC players and PSVita players alike, it also is the first in the series to go completely free to play, at least in the Japanese version, where all you do is download it and you can pay for things like character slo
More griefers in Ranked than Normal?

Now, I started to do ranked games more and more lately, doing the solo queue when my friends aren't online to actually do ARAM (which is weird) and just team ranked. I know I haven't done many rants about randoms lately, but the sheer number I have been getting when doing ranked games is astounding - so suffice to say I am in elo hell now.
I know I didn't do the best in some of the matches, but I have done quite a bit in several that I have lost, and I do blame that on the curse of random players. Let me give you a few examples on that:
In one of my first solo queue ones I did the jungle Olaf route, which turned out fairly well, I ganked as much as I could, and my team was actually holding their own. Then out of nowhere we get a random leaver, who just set things out of mo
War of Roses Beta Registration - Find 5 Friends

War of Roses is a new game being made by Paradox Interactive, the same people who made Mount & Blade : Warband (Great game) and With Fire and Sword (Meh game). The good news is that the game is reaching the beta registration page, and before you tell me, I know it started a few days ago, but I just found out about it today.
How they're going about it is similar to the way the crew who made Salem went about their beta registration; find five friends to sign up with your link, and you get guaranteed access. Not a bad deal, is it? The only real hitch is that it seems they require you to have a steam account, and ask for what I believe is your username for Steam. So if you're not a big fan of Steam and don't want to use it, you may want to pass on this game.
...End of Nations Beta Sign-ups are live
The new military sim from Trion, the same people who made Rift, has opened it's beta sign-ups to the public. You can sign up using the link above and you can wait and see if you will be in the beta which starts in around 14 days. Some nice news for those interested, is that the beta is not limited to those living in the NA region, but is open to pretty much anyone who wants to try, and is lucky enough to get into the beta.
For those curious about the game, here is a snip from the main site giving a run-down of the game:
